Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Griffin.
Hi Simone, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, I’ve always loved hair! When I decided to cut my hair over 15 years ago, I fell in love with just the look and confidence that short hair gave me! So, after being laid off from a company I was with for 8 years, I decided to take a leap and go to beauty school. Also, with the push and encouragement from my then hairstylist. She would always tell me I didn’t need to be at my hair appointment because my hair looked so good from me maintaining it between my appointments.
I started out doing everything! And quickly noticed that I just love short hair and giving women a haircut and seeing how their attitudes completely change with their new, sassy cut/look. I decided to just specialize in short hair only because that was more fulfilling and fun to me! And it was something I actually loved to do and passionate about.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Yes, it was definitely hard starting out. Being that I felt I was new to the “game”, and trying to market myself. Thank God for social media because that definitely helped a lot, aside from me getting out and passing out business cards. I would say the main struggle was building clientele,
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a short hairstylist. I specialize in custom cuts and classy styles. I’m most proud of me stepping out of my comfort zone and doing what I love.
What sets me apart is that I go my hardest to ensure every client is 100% satisfied with their service. I go above and beyond to create a welcoming, positive environment! I am the same person on every visit!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is doing what I love. And having the freedom and time to be with my family.
