Today we’d like to introduce you to Temitope Oshomoji.
Hi Temitope, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thanks so much for allowing me to share my story with you.
I am Temi Oshomoji, born and raised in Nashville, TN and currently residing in Dallas, TX. I am a Project Analyst with UBS, an author, a domestic violence activist, and most importantly a mother. I am a first-generation Nigerian American who is devoted to bridging the gap between Africans in the diaspora and those abroad. I currently hold the title of Ms. International Lone Star State 2022 and will compete this September in New York at the 2022 Ms. International pageant. As a Domestic Violence survivor, I know firsthand the importance of genuine assistance. I organize intimate events in order share my story and raise funds and awareness for fellow survivors. I recently published a book called The Reason I Smile that shares a snippet into my life. I really just want to empower and encourage people. The book is available on Amazon.
“I could have died multiple times in this life. I am a woman of faith and I am a believer that God has created me to make an impact in this world. I have grown to know that I will never allow my past hurt to determine my future greatness!” I can’t wait to share my journey with each of you.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My road has definitely been bumpy! Lol I was never given a good, silver, nor bronze spoon in this world. I had to work hard for everything. I feel that each battle that I have overcame helped mold me into a stronger woman. I was a teenage mother and I still pushed through and graduated college. I was a victim of domestic violence and I found the courage to leave and share my story. My community doesn’t like it when you speak about women leaving toxic relationships and starting over, but I continue to make my voice heard.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
This is actually the hard part. I’m a Project Analyst with a certification in Project Management for UBS. UBS is a wealth management firm. When I’m not working my corporate job, I am a micro-influencer. I bring awareness to domestic violence as well as showcasing the Dallas lifestyle in the eyes of a newcomer. I’m also competing in the International Ms pageant this September.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I can honestly say that the luck has been…God! I can not stress how many times I was supposed to be dead, but God saw something in me and kept me here another day.
