Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Marsh.
Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m an independent singer/songwriter that like many, started in the church. My roots are gospel, and I grew up playing drums and singing for just about any choir they would allow me to! I’ve always had a passion and gift of music since from an early age – was even a member of the band throughout school which only enhanced my appreciation for music. I started writing music in 2020 after a breakup. What started off as my personal diary and outlet quickly gained traction online. After an abundance of support and push, I decided to record my first EP ‘VEGAS’ The EP. The amount of streams gathered from that project literally overwhelmed me and inspired me at the same time. I called it ‘music therapy’ because that’s just what it is to me. Therapy without the monthly fee. I continued to record snippets on an app called Voisey, which led to my biggest record to this date. ‘Will You’ was released on my birthday as a gift to myself but also release of everything the song stood for. From that record, I’ve been blessed to sing on stages with crowds I only dreamed about.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Musically it’s been great. I’ve been able to sing my heart out and lose myself in music however, I believe behind every great writer/storyteller, there’s a great deal of hurt. It will always cost you. There’s a level of self-exposure and sacrifice that will always be required and given however, I’m thankful for the journey. In the moment, it’s hard to appreciate hurt, but I now understand it made me the person I am today. I’m able to write about my past experiences, and thankfully it resonates with others all across the globe.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Outside of writing music, I’m also a musician (drummer). I’ve been playing since around age 6 and made my start playing for my church’s youth choir. Of course, I couldn’t have a voice and not sing in the choir as well. Eventually, I went on to directing and teaching parts to the choirs. This not only heightens my drive for music but also gave me an inside look to harmonies and melodies. With any church singer/musician, singing in front of people isn’t anything new. I was fortunate enough to be asked to sing in Berlin, Germany in 2018, and that further pushed my drive for wanting to establish myself as an independent artist.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
THANK YOU!!! For the overflowing amount of support sent my way! There’s no comment, like, share or post too small. I’m so blessed to have people that support me from all parts of the world!
