Today we’d like to introduce you to Tye Nguyen.
Tye , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our journey into roofing and construction started out of both necessity and passion. RCSA stands for Roofing & Construction Systems of America. We believe that knowledge and branding is critical and having RCSA as our name would allow us to scale at a healthy pace while also providing the quality service that our clients have come to expect. Early on, we saw how overwhelming it can be for homeowners and business owners when they face roof damage or major construction needs, especially when insurance companies are involved. We wanted to bridge that gap and create a company that not only builds strong roofs but also builds trust.
That vision grew into RCSA Roofing & Construction, a family owned business here in North Texas. We started small, one project at a time, working hard to earn our reputation. Over time, we have become BBB accredited, Google Guaranteed, and fully insured, but more importantly, we have built a network of referrals and relationships that speak louder than any certification.
What has kept us going is our commitment to people. We are not just replacing roofs or doing construction projects, we are protecting families, businesses, and investments. We have helped countless homeowners navigate the insurance process, worked with HOAs, realtors, and commercial property owners, and taken on projects that range from everyday repairs to large and complex roofing systems.
Today, I live here in Melissa with my wife and kids, and this community is a big part of why we do what we do. My partner lives in Plano with his wife and kids, and together we are proud to serve our communities not only through our work, but also by supporting causes like the Texas Wounded Warrior Project and sponsoring the Bronco Buddies Program at McKinney Boyd High School. Being able to serve both locally and across the DFW area has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. We believe our growth has come from staying grounded, leading with integrity, keeping quality high, and treating every client like family.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business journey, it has not always been a smooth road. In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was simply earning trust. Roofing and construction are industries where homeowners are often skeptical because they have either had a bad experience in the past or heard too many stories of contractors who cut corners. We had to work twice as hard to show people that we were different, that we stood behind our work and put integrity first.
Learning how to work with experts in the insurance industry has allowed us to better advocate for our clients. Helping them get fair treatment after storm damage can be a long and frustrating process, both for them and for us as their contractor, but building those partnerships has made a huge difference in guiding people through the claims process.
And of course, like many small businesses, we have had to deal with growing pains, managing cash flow, building the right team, and learning how to balance family life with the demands of running a company. Every struggle has also been a lesson, and those lessons are what shaped RCSA into the company it is today. They have made us stronger, more committed, and more appreciative of the community we get to serve.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At RCSA Roofing & Construction, we specialize in roofing systems, insurance restoration, and general construction projects for both residential and commercial clients. We are known for combining craftsmanship with advocacy, meaning we do not just install roofs, we help clients navigate the entire process from inspection to final build.
We use material brands like GAF, Owens Corning, Sikaflex, and others, ensuring that every project is built to last with trusted products. On the commercial side, we handle everything from TPO systems to more complex roofing structures, always focusing on safety, quality, and long term durability.
What we are most proud of is the trust we have built in the communities we serve. We are BBB accredited, Google Guaranteed, and fully insured, but what matters most is the referrals and relationships that come from satisfied clients. For us, it is not just about finishing a project, it is about protecting families, businesses, and investments, and making sure people feel confident that they chose the right contractor.
What sets us apart is our approach. We live in the communities we serve, we give back through local causes like the Texas Wounded Warrior Project and the Bronco Buddies Program at McKinney Boyd High School, and we treat every project as if it were our own home or business. Our clients know that when they call us, they are not getting a sales pitch, they are getting a team that will advocate for them, stand behind the work, and deliver on promises.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, we see the roofing and construction industry moving toward greater innovation, sustainability, and accountability. Homeowners and businesses are becoming more aware of energy efficiency and long term value, so we expect to see higher demand for impact resistant shingles, reflective roofing systems, solar integration, and materials that reduce energy costs.
Technology will continue to play a big role as well. Tools like drones, AI, and advanced imaging will make inspections more precise, and project management platforms will help contractors deliver faster and with more transparency. Clients want to see what is happening every step of the way, and technology is making that possible.
We also believe there will be a noticeable shift toward more retail projects and less reliance on insurance claims. As carriers tighten their guidelines, homeowners and businesses are choosing to invest directly in upgrades, remodels, and preventative work. This means contractors will need to focus more on customer experience, financing options, and long term value rather than depending solely on storm driven work.
Finally, we believe community connection will be a defining factor. As more contractors enter the market, the ones who will stand out are those who are not just installing roofs, but investing in the people and neighborhoods they serve. At RCSA, we are preparing for these shifts by embracing technology, offering high quality and sustainable materials, and continuing to focus on protecting families, businesses, and communities.
