Today we’d like to introduce you to Vaishnavi Tatineni & Krishitha Pingeli.
Hi Vaishnavi Tatineni & Krishitha Pingeli, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We were both raised in Canada, where healthcare was free, so we never really thought twice about going to the doctor. But when we moved to the United States, we were shocked by how different the system was. The first time we saw the cost on a medical bill, we couldn’t believe it. That got us thinking—if middle-class families were struggling with these expenses, what about those with low incomes? As we researched more, we realized the issues ran even deeper. Even with government insurance, coverage is often limited, and qualifying for it is incredibly difficult. The requirements are so specific that something as small as owning an old car could disqualify you. This leaves many people stuck in a gap—unable to afford private insurance but also ineligible for government assistance. After learning about these challenges, we knew we wanted to do something to help. That’s what led us to start Outreach4All, with the goal of increasing healthcare accessibility for underserved communities.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced in launching and leading a nonprofit at a young age is gaining credibility. Many people initially questioned whether we, as high school students, could really make an impact in such a complex area as healthcare access. To overcome this, we focused on building strong relationships with mentors and professionals who believed in our mission. Through these partnerships and by consistently delivering on our promises, we were able to show that we were serious and capable. Another challenge has been balancing the nonprofit with academic commitments. As students, it’s tough to juggle school work and managing the responsibilities of running an organization. To overcome this we rely on strong time management strategies, like creating schedules and setting realistic goals. We also make sure to communicate openly with our team, especially during busy times when we need to focus more on school. Lastly, fundraising has always been a challenge, especially when we were just starting. To overcome this, we’ve partnered with local businesses and restaurants for fundraisers, which not only helps with financial support but also increases awareness of our mission in the community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We started Outreach 4 All in our sophomore year of high school because we saw how hard it can be for people in marginalized communities to access healthcare. We do various fundraiser initiatives and drives amongst other events. Our main objective is providing health education and advocating for better healthcare access. We have over 20 chapters led by high school students across the U.S. as a big part of our work is mobilizing young people to take action.
What sets us apart is that we’re completely run by young people who are passionate about making a real difference. Our vision when we started Outreach 4 All was creating real change.
We’re also involved with our local government — most recently, we advocated for raising the indigent floor with our county commissioners in Collin County to help more people qualify for healthcare assistance.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The one characteristic we would say is most important to our success is perseverance. As students we constantly face struggles-whether it’s difficult coursework, time management struggles, or setbacks that test our confidence. However, our ability to push forward despite these obstacles is what defines our growth and achievements. Perseverance allows us to learn from our mistakes, adapt to new situations, and stay motivated even when things feel overwhelming. It teaches us resilience, determination, and the importance of hard work. No matter how many times we stumble, it is our perseverance that keeps us moving toward success.
