Conversations with Varinia Peace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Varinia Peace

Hi Varinia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Denton, Texas. I am a proud single mother to a wonderful 30-year-old son. My educational background includes an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Currently, I serve as a Health and Wellness Coach at an elementary school.
Fashion has always been a passion of mine. From a young age, I loved experimenting with outfits and playing dress-up in high heels. Just before graduating high school, I saw a Miss Wade’s commercial on TV, which solidified my desire to model clothing. Recognizing my natural talent for styling and curating unique outfits, I pursued my passion and, in 2019, opened my own upscale resale clothing store for women. Since then, I have also taken on the role of modeling for my boutique.
My store primarily operates through donations and is now appointment-based to provide a more personalized shopping experience. My goal is to help women not only look their best but also feel confident and empowered.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—it has been a journey filled with challenges, particularly financial and health-related obstacles. However, my passion for what I do keeps me motivated to push forward.
One of my biggest challenges has been marketing and advertising, especially after returning to full-time work. Balancing my career, business, and personal life has been demanding, but my love for fashion and modeling drives me to persevere. No matter the challenges, I remain committed to making my vision a reality.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
In addition to my role as a Health and Wellness Coach at an elementary school, I am the owner of AUB (APOP-UNIQUE BEAUTIQUE), an upscale resale clothing store that caters to both women and men. I take great pride in styling individuals for success and helping them feel confident in their appearance.
Beyond fashion, I am a creative entrepreneur. I own an arts and crafts business called APOP—A Product of Peace, which I merged with my clothing store to create a unique boutique experience. One of my most cherished creations is my God Cans—prayer cans designed to inspire and uplift others.
I am also a published author, with my book Forever in Love currently available, alongside a self-published children’s rap-along book, with many more projects in the works. Additionally, I have a deep passion for music and am an active member of both the VOP Choir at my church and Lorrie’s Joy Choir, which supports Denton County Friends of the Family in raising awareness about domestic violence.
One of my proudest accomplishments is making my film debut in “Deep Seeded Thoughts,” which premieres on February 22, 2025. Alongside my modeling endeavors for my boutique and my first published book, these milestones represent my dedication to creativity and self-expression!
