Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Madeline Velasquez.
Hi Victoria Madeline, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into real estate wasn’t something I originally planned. I actually started out pursuing a career in criminal justice, but when COVID happened and the world seemed to completely shut down, life took me in a different direction. Like so many people during that time, I found myself thinking about what I really wanted for my future and what kind of career would truly make me happy.
One thing I’ve always known about myself is that I love working with people. I enjoy connecting with others, hearing their stories, and being able to help in any way I can. Real estate gave me the opportunity to turn that into a career, and once I got into the industry, I realized how much I genuinely enjoyed it.
Being a Spanish speaker has made that journey even more meaningful to me. I’ve seen how intimidating the home-buying process can feel, especially when there is a language barrier. Being able to help Spanish-speaking families understand the process, feel comfortable asking questions, and know they have someone representing them is something I’m very proud of. I want my Hispanic community to know that homeownership is possible and that they deserve to have someone in their corner who understands them and will advocate for them.
Today, I continue to grow in real estate while being involved with HARK Contracting LLC and expanding into the mobile home industry. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I know this is only the beginning. For me, success isn’t just about growing a business it’s about creating opportunities, building relationships, and making a difference in the lives of the people and families I serve. Being able to represent my community, help others reach their goals, and grow alongside them is what makes this journey so meaningful to me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! It has definitely come with its fair share of challenges. Real estate was a completely new field for me, and I quickly learned that getting your license is one thing, but actually stepping into the industry and building a career is a completely different experience.
There is so much that a course or exam simply can’t prepare you for. From understanding contracts and navigating different transactions to working with clients, marketing yourself, and learning how to build your own business, so much of my experience has come through trial and error.
Finding the right brokerage was another important part of that journey. I had to figure out what kind of environment, support, mentorship, and resources I needed in order to grow. Not every decision was the right one, but each experience taught me something and helped me understand what I was looking for. Eventually, that journey led me to Monument Realty, where I found an environment that has allowed me to continue learning, growing, and developing myself as a real estate professional.
There have been plenty of learning curves, mistakes, and moments when I’ve had to change direction, but those experiences have played a huge role in my growth. I’m still learning every day, and I’ve realized that in this industry, you can never become too comfortable. You have to be willing to adapt, continue educating yourself, and push yourself outside of your comfort zone. I think some of my biggest growth has come from simply being willing to figure things out as I go and not giving up when something doesn’t go as planned.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a full-time real estate professional serving the Dallas–Fort Worth area, specializing in first-time homebuyers, residential sales, new construction, mobile homes and land. I’ve worked hard to build knowledge in different areas of real estate so I can be a resource for clients with very different needs and goals.
What I’m most proud of is the reputation I’ve built. I want my name to be associated with someone who is dependable, responsive, and willing to put in the work for her clients. I’m not interested in simply closing a deal and moving on to the next one. When I take on a client, I become invested in their journey and want to make sure they’re making decisions that are right for them.
I’m also proud to be a first-generation business owner in my family and a Latina building a career for myself in an industry with so much opportunity. There’s something special about creating your own path and seeing how far you can take it.
I think what sets me apart is how personal I make the experience. Every client, property, and situation is different, so I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether someone is buying their very first home, selling, looking at new construction, or considering a mobile home, I want them to know they have someone who is going to show up, be honest with them, and work hard on their behalf.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My happiness really comes from the simple things in life. My two dogs are a huge part of my everyday life and definitely bring so much joy into our home. My partner and I love going to the movies together, and I also really enjoy exploring new restaurants and finding new places to try.
My daily walks have also become something I genuinely look forward to. It’s my time to get outside, reset, and have a little time to myself. I also really value spending time with my family and making time for them no matter how busy life gets.
Those are the things that keep me balanced. I enjoy staying busy and working toward my goals, but I also appreciate having a life outside of work and making time for the people and things I enjoy.
