Courtney Paige on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Courtney Paige . Check out our conversation below.

Courtney, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I always lose track of time when I’m at the barn with my horses. It’s my peace. My serenity. The one thing that always brings me back to a grounded place, especially when dealing with the chaos of filmmaking.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I was born and raised in Canada. It took me fourteen years of hard work in the business before I was able to get my green card. I was the first woman in my family to graduate. My Mom always taught me to chase my dreams and follow my heart. I used to want to make it to the “top,” with my career. Now, I’ve learned that I’d rather live out a peaceful life on a farm. If I can make films and it brings me joy, that’ll be the best of both worlds, but my peace is more important than anything these days and I won’t sacrifice it for Hollywood.

You’re an incredible female filmmaker. Where can people watch your previous work and what’s next for you?
Our first film The Sinners is available on Amazon prime, it airs occasionally on Lifetime as well. Our latest film was a Tubi original called Chapel, starring Jeremy Sumpter (Peter Pan)

We have a lot on the go with our upcoming slate under our new banner, Perlino Pictures. We are in development on a five picture slate, three I am producing and two of which I will be directing. A couple of them already have a theatrical guarantee and distribution. I can’t say too much, but what I will say is that it’s going to be a fun 2026 being back on set, working with some incredible actors, artists and distributors.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Lots of things can break a bond, but if both parties put God first and understand we are all imperfect beings who make mistakes, it’s important to find forgiveness for others. To have compassion. To handle situations with as much grace as we can,

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering for my artistry made me realize it’s not worth it. Success is not defined by fame and fortune. It’s defined by who and how you love. Who will be with you in the end. Family and friends are all that matter and it’s important not to lose sight of that to gain success.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
God, my animals and honesty.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
My favorite photo is one of Jesus standing in front of a little girl. She’s holding onto a small teddy bear for dear life and doesn’t want to give it to him. Little does she know, he has a giant teddy bear for her behind his back. I always remember, when I don’t get what I want, God’s rejection is his protection. Sometimes what you want, isn’t what you need. I try to always find satisfaction in that.
