Crispin Valentin shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Crispin , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
One of the proudest moments for me as the host of The Global Latin Factor Podcast was realizing that what started as just an idea—to highlight Latino culture and stories—was actually making a real difference. I’ve had people reach out and tell me how much they appreciate seeing Latinos being recognized for their hard work, creativity, and impact—not just in their communities, but across the country.
It made me realize that this platform is helping shift the narrative about who we are. We’re not just contributing—we’re shaping culture, building businesses, leading movements. Seeing that the podcast is giving visibility to those stories and helping our people get the credit they deserve… that’s when I knew this was all worth it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Crispin Valentin, and I’m the host of The Global Latin Factor Podcast. What I do is simple, but powerful—I share real stories from real Latinos doing impactful work across all industries. From artists to chefs, entrepreneurs to lawyers, innovators, doctors, and community leaders—we highlight the voices you don’t always hear, but that are shaping the world every day.
To me, The Global Latin Factor is more than just a podcast. It’s the imprint of our Latino presence across the globe. You can’t go a day without feeling it—from the food on your plate, to the music you hear, to the culture that influences fashion, art, and even language. We’re everywhere, and our stories matter.
Right now, I’m focused on growing the platform, continuing to feature Latinos from all walks of life, and creating a legacy that celebrates who we are, where we come from, and where we’re headed.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that needed validation—the version that needed to prove I belonged behind a mic—that’s what I’m releasing. From internet radio to community radio, and now building The Global Latin Factor Podcast, every step has prepared me for this moment. For years, people told me I was born for this, that my voice had something special. I used to brush it off, but now I see it clearly.
It’s no longer about proving anything—it’s about owning it. My voice has power beyond what I can even comprehend. It’s a vessel to remind my community of who we are, where we come from, and the greatness we carry in our roots. I’m letting go of the need to be accepted, and stepping fully into the role I was meant to play: to uplift, awaken, and amplify the stories that matter.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that life isn’t happening to me—it’s just happening. Over time, I realized there’s no real “suffering” in the way we often define it. There are just lessons disguised as challenges. The tough moments showed me that everything is part of the process. Even when it feels heavy or painful, it’s shaping me, growing me, pushing me to evolve.
Success feels good—but it doesn’t ask you to look deeper. Suffering does. It forced me to slow down, to ground myself, and ask: What am I meant to learn from this? That mindset shift changed everything. Now I understand it’s always about growth. And once you accept that, even the hard times become part of your power.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Very much so. What you see is what you get. From my name to my energy, everything I put out is genuine. I show up with love, care, and respect—on and off the mic.
I’m not performing a version of myself for the public. I’m simply being me. And I believe that authenticity is what truly connects with people. It’s how I’ve built trust with my audience and my community.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Honestly, nothing. I’ve already spent years doing what I need to do, knowing I’m not immortal. I’m fully aware that death is real and unpredictable—and that’s exactly why I live each day like it’s the best one. I’ve made peace with my mortality.
So I wouldn’t stop anything… I’d just keep going even more intentionally, more present, and more in alignment with who I am and what I’m here to do.
