Hi Abeer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since my childhood, I loved drawing and painting, which made me want to always be involved with creative projects.
In 2021, I was watching an artist on YouTube that was doing a tutorial about Resin art. I immediately fell in love with this art (I felt like it called me) so I decided to follow the Resin artists on social media and started to learn everything about this art from scratch, and because I’m an artist by heart, it wasn’t hard to learn this kind of art. Yet, until today, I’m still learning more techniques because as you may know art is a never-ending form of creativity.
When I get an inspiration to make any piece, especially the wall art, I have to plan it carefully before I started because I can’t be rushed since I have to work with multiple layers and need to wait for each layer to dry before starting with the new one, which is a very time-consuming thing to do. I feel that because of Resin, I learnt to be more patient and I’m absolutely in love with what I do.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The honest truth is no, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road. I’ve had many ups and downs during this journey. The biggest struggle has been trying to figure out how to balance between my family and my hobby, and as a mother of four kids, that wasn’t easy by any means.
The second struggle was with my business name; I was looking for something easy and attractive at the same time because you know how the saying goes “the simpler the better”. It took a while till I decided _Resin_4fans_ as a business name.
Moreover, since Resin art is so vast, I had to learn to get over my fear of comparing my art with the art of others. This fear of mine meant that I would not be able to achieve the level of creativity that I desired; thus, I strived to have my own mark. I want people recognize my art just by looking at it from afar, and that’s what my business aims to achieve in the future. But of course, with this comes some challenges, such as marketing. It is not easy to market my art since not many understand the art and effort done behind the scene to make each piece.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a resin artist that sells handmade artistic pieces as a result of my growing hobby for this type of art.
The amazing thing about the art of resin is that you can’t always know what the final product will look like. Since I work with various materials such as crystals, gems, wood, pigments, and glitter to create masterpieces. Working with such different materials all at the same time, it makes sense that the final product would be unexpected.
Furthermore, I love to create unique pieces such as wall art, clocks, decorative pieces…etc. for people to have in their most beloved spaces. I also create artistic functional products such as trays, cheeseboards, and coasters.
As a self-taught resin artist, I love it when someone stops by to say that they have never seen such beautiful resin art like the ones I make and how much they enjoy my work; for any artist, there’s nothing more we would want in this world than to see people’s appreciation towards our art. It is genuinely the most incredible thing for us.
Regarding what sets me apart from others, I believe is how I challenge myself every time to utilize different materials and techniques to create something spectacular by adding creativity and love into each piece of my heart (yes, my artistic pieces are a part of my heart that people get to experience and keep), and my continuous passion to learn more every day. For me, art is something that never makes you feel tired; if anything, it almost emancipates you every time you learn something new about it.
