Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Dry.
Hi Alex, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started in the entertainment industry at a young age as a professional dancer and model. Being in that world early on taught me confidence, discipline, and how to show up even when I was still figuring myself out. I grew up understanding that growth happens in real time.
As I got older, my interests naturally expanded. I became curious about the business side of creativity, how brands connect, how conversations move, and how ideas turn into movements. That curiosity led me into marketing and eventually into tech, where I worked as a Marketing Manager at TikTok. Being inside a platform that influences conversations around the world gave me a deeper understanding of connection. I saw that what truly resonates is not perfection, it is authenticity. It is people feeling seen in whatever season they are in. At the same time, I always had a passion to build something of my own. I have always loved lifestyle, fashion, design, healing, spirituality, and personal growth. Sharing that felt natural to me. What started as posting pieces of my life slowly evolved into deeper conversations. The more I opened up, the more I realized other women were craving those same honest spaces.
That evolution became The Dry Diaries.
The Dry Diaries is really a look into my diary and other people’s as well. Every chapter of life brings something different. Some seasons are about travel and creativity. Some are about healing. Some are about relationships, breakups, or redefining who you are. We talk about the in between seasons, the pivots, the self doubt, the moments where you are asking yourself who am I becoming. I do not position myself as someone who has everything figured out. I am evolving in real time. I think that is why it resonates, because life is always bringing you new chapters. My goal is to remind women that growth is allowed. Reinvention is allowed. You can change, expand, heal, and dream bigger while still remaining grounded in who you are.
Building this community has shown me how much I love creating intentional spaces, not just online but in person. I see The Dry Diaries expanding into live experiences, wellness centered gatherings, and curated moments where women can connect beyond the screen. As for where I am today, I’m creating the next chapter of The Dry Diaries. I’ve got some really exciting guests coming on the podcast, and I’m also building the brand in ways that feel natural to me — whether that’s through interviews, on-screen projects, or even experiences like wellness and travel retreats. At the heart of it, I’m sharing my life with my followers in the hope that it brings relatability, healing, love, and growth.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think we need to destigmatize the idea that anyone’s journey is smooth or easy. Everyone has struggles, and no one’s path is exactly the same. There’s something really powerful in the struggle, even if you don’t see it at the time, it’s often what shapes you and pushes you toward your purpose.
For me, some of my biggest challenges have been feeling misunderstood, judged, and dealing with strong anxiety and depression. I’ve had anxiety since I was little, and working through all of that is honestly what’s brought me to where I am today. I’ve learned so much about myself along the way, and the healthiest thing I could do was become the best, most whole version of myself. I’ve also realized that judgment usually just means you’re stretching, not just past others’ comfort zones, but your own.
For a long time, people saw me one way, but internally I felt completely different. I’ve always had big ideas and a strong creative pull, whether it was storytelling, fashion, design, branding, or building something that felt bigger than where I was at the time. One of the moments that really shaped me was leaving before my senior year of college to move to Los Angeles. Growing up in a small town, I always knew I wanted something more. On paper, it didn’t make sense to everyone. There was backlash, judgment, and a lot of opinions. But I knew I wasn’t fully myself. I was craving growth, feeling stuck creatively and emotionally, and I felt called to step into a bigger world, even if I couldn’t fully explain it yet.
That decision forced me to grow fast. It meant betting on myself before there was proof. And honestly, that theme has repeated throughout my life. To build anything meaningful, there are seasons where you just have to believe in yourself before anyone else fully sees the vision. That’s been one of the biggest lessons, trusting that the path meant for you is already unfolding, even when it doesn’t feel linear or clear. I’ve also learned to let go of the timelines we put on ourselves. Age is just a number. Growth doesn’t follow a schedule. Reinvention doesn’t expire. Some of the best choices I’ve made came from choosing faith over fear and trusting my evolution instead of comparing it to anyone else’s.
I’ve pivoted careers, evolved publicly, and faced judgment for expanding beyond what people originally expected of me. But the discomfort? That’s never been a sign I was off track, it’s been a sign I was growing. It hasn’t been easy, and I wouldn’t want it to be. The beauty is in allowing people to witness the growth, come along for the journey, and see that success isn’t about perfection, it’s about resilience, self-trust, and showing up, again and again.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a creative founder, podcast host, and entrepreneur who likes talking about the things we’re all thinking about but don’t always say out loud. My latest project I’ve been working on is The Dry Diaries. With The Dry Diaries, I wanted to create a space that feels real and honest, with conversations about dating, ambition, identity shifts, spirituality, starting over, and what it actually feels like to grow and evolve in real time. I share my own life openly because I know how lonely growth can feel when you don’t see other people talking about it honestly. I talk about a wide range of topics, because I think there’s value in having open conversations about the things we all go through but don’t always say out loud. I talk about pivots, reinvention, uncertainty, relationships, healing, and all the in between moments where life is actually happening.
My background is in marketing and tech. I worked as a Marketing Manager at TikTok and helped build and support emerging apps, so I understand how platforms grow. But what I care about most is connection and storytelling. I’ve always been drawn to creativity, fashion, design, and lifestyle expression, not just how something looks, but how it makes you feel. That shows up in everything I do and share.
Through the podcast, I also love spotlighting guests who have powerful, real stories, founders, creatives, and people who have taken unconventional paths. I like talking about things that aren’t always mainstream. I’m really drawn to the in between moments, the things people are thinking about but don’t always say out loud. I love sharing the mic because it reminds people that there isn’t just one way to grow or build a life you love. Everyone’s journey looks different, and I think there’s something really comforting about hearing real stories about uncertainty, reinvention, ambition, and figuring life out as you go. That’s really the heart of The Dry Diaries, creating space for honest, real conversations about life and growth.
What I’m most proud of is the community that has formed around it. The messages that say things like, “I thought I was the only one who felt this way,” mean everything to me. In a world that can feel very curated, I wanted to build something that feels authentic, relatable, and real.
What’s next feels really exciting and expansive. I see The Dry Diaries growing into a wellness focused brand, travel experiences, and spaces where online connection becomes something that feels tangible and real in different ways. If I had to sum up what I do, I create spaces for people who know they’re meant for more, even if they are still figuring out what that looks like.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating connection, being authentic, and building spaces where people feel seen and understood. I really love talking about the things we’re all thinking about but don’t always say out loud. I care about being honest about the highs, the struggles, and all the in-between moments because growth can feel really lonely when you don’t see other people being open about it.
Family and faith are really important to me. They keep me grounded, especially in an industry that moves fast and is always changing. Those are the things that remind me who I am outside of success, visibility, or what I’m working on at the moment. My faith especially has taught me to trust timing, trust redirection, and trust that things are unfolding the way they’re meant to, even when I don’t have all the answers.
I really care about building a life and creating work that leaves meaning and inspires other people in some way. Legacy to me isn’t about being known, it’s about leaving people feeling a little more encouraged, a little more understood, or a little more confident in themselves. At the end of the day, I want everything I build to feel aligned with who I am becoming, rooted in faith, driven by purpose, and centered on growth.
