Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Conomos Anderson.
It’s an honor to have Alexa on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share the story with us – to start please share some of the backstory with our readers?
Alexa transitioned to the world of real estate from the dynamic broadcast journalism industry. After 17 years with legacy ABC affiliate WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth, she made the decision to embrace her longtime passion for real estate and embark on a new path. Since then, she has enjoyed working with select clients and collaborating with colleagues in this highly competitive industry. “My focus is on building strong relationships with clients rather than targeting specific areas or price points,” she says. Instead, Alexa embraces the opportunity to work with both luxury and first-time homebuyers, families relocating from her native state of California, and international clients who may be in Texas with a green card or work visa. As a member of the Anderson Conomos Team, she also collaborates with her husband and brother-in-law, both of whom are lawyers and restauranteurs. With their legal expertise and personal experience as business owners, they also guide clients who would like to become business owners and seek support in negotiating complex commercial lease agreements. Through their various professional and life experiences, their team is versatile and experienced. Their greatest passion lies in building strong relationships with their select clients so that they will feel cared for and supported throughout their unique real estate journey. “Having their trust is a gift,” she says. “It’s a privilege that I never take for granted.”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons she’s learned along the way. Has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Alexa enjoys meeting the unique challenges of an ever changing real estate market, from multiple offers to market fluctuations, fierce competition to long hours. But perhaps the greatest challenge? “The happiness of my clients,” she says. “I highly analyze our options, our selling or buying strategy, how to market a property just so, how to optimize market value and later resale value – all the elements. But I do lose sleep worrying about the intangible – my client’s happiness.” Alexa says that whether buying or selling, it’s a deeply personal path that require a great amount of care. “It’s not just about the numbers, it can be emotional for clients,” she says. “It’s a mental marathon at times.” She lightly adds that her husband always tells her she worries too much, but she maintains that, “that’s just who I am. I’ve always been an empath type personality, so with this job, I work to turn that into a strength to ensure that I work that much harder for my clients.”
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about her work?
Alexa stands out as a top producer and enjoys a high percentage of repeat and referral business because of her client-based approach and her marketing skills. Marrying her broadcast journalism experience with her real estate business, she often creates video vignettes that provide guided tours of her listings. “These are designed to give prospective buyers a taste of the lifestyle they will enjoy within a particular community, enticing them to further explore the property in person,” Alexa explains. In addition, her strong presence on social media platforms from her tenure at WFAA also provides a uniquely wide marketing reach, while her family’s foothold in the local business community allows her to cross-promote listings, explore off market buyer opportunities, and tap into a synergistic clientele base. But it’s likely her passion for building close relationships with clients that sets her apart. It’s a passion deeply rooted in her former career, where she learned the importance of forming a powerful connection with viewing consumers. “When I transitioned into real estate, I quickly saw that the same values of trust, communication, and credibility applied,” she says. “They are the cornerstone of every successful real estate journey.” As so as part of her client-based approach, Alexa focuses on just a few clients at a time to ensure that she fulfills their needs while meeting her responsibilities to her own family.
Does she have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
As the daughter of first-generation Americans, Alexa enjoys tracing her Greek lineage with summer trips to her family’s ancestral island of Kythera. She often unwinds to the Greek folklore music beloved by her Greek grandmother and enjoys blogging about her Yiayia’s’ emigration to a new life – and a new home – in America. She also enjoys tracing her husband’s French roots with yearly Christmas adventures in France and recommends Julia Child’s “My Life In France” as a must read. “We’re always planning the next adventure because I just want to travel the world with my favorite people – my family,” she says. “But ultimately, the best part of any adventure is always coming home.”
