Hi Alicia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I am Alicia West, the proud owner of Nudeskinnbeauty, an online spa company that prioritizes healthy skin and provides affordable skincare products for all skin types with a thriving presence for two years, Nudeskinnbeauty has quickly become a trusted destination. As an experienced aesthetician with three years of expertise in the DFW metroplex, I have curated a spa experience that promotes healthy skin and caters to diverse needs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Entrepreneurship has certainly presented its challenges. I previously operated a physical spa location, but circumstances led me to make the difficult decision to close it down and shift my focus to an online platform. This decision was prompted by my father’s cancer diagnosis, as I needed to become one of his caregivers unfortunately my father has since passed away. This experience has motivated me to consider reopening a salon suite in the future, offering a wider range of self-care options. For now I am dedicated to providing virtual skincare products that effectively maintain and improve the skin.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
One of the things I love most about the beauty industry is the ability to express oneself through various forms of art. From makeup and hair to nails, there is so much creativity involved in transforming and enhancing someone’s appearance. This passion for beauty has been ingrained in me since I was a little girl, as my grandmother was a beautician. I was always fascinated by the way she could create stunning looks and boost her clients confidence. As I grew older and my children became more independent, I decided to pursue my own path in the beauty industry. Being a creative person, I wanted to have a platform where I could visually express myself and help others feel beautiful.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 crisis has taught me the importance of flexibility and the ability to adapt to a virtual world. This newfound flexibility has allowed me to prioritize supporting my family, which has always been my top priority. It has also made me realize the amount of time we use to take away from our families before the pandemic. Despite the challenges that arose, this experience has shown me that the world can be more flexible and that we can accomplish more when we have the freedom to be flexible.
