Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Oliver.
Hi Allison, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Denton in 2015 and Started out working at a salon and barbershop part-time. Promoting a safe space for queer/alternative people to come and get their hair done. Anyone who’s ever felt uncomfortable walking into a salon and felt judged for the cut they were asking for or just flat out for their appearance? We’re not your normal spot, we want it to feel like you’re at your crazy aunts’ house getting your hair done. We’re done with “polite” modern salons. We treat you with the same respect you give us; it’s as simple as that. Everyone is welcome here, no matter what race or gender. You can come here and feel welcome and comfortable as long as you respect our staff and the people around you while you’re here.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I mean, we opened in 2020 right smack dab in the middle of the pandemic, so we definitely have had some bumps and bruises, but I think we’re stronger than ever now because of it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in EVERYTHING. Everything from vivid rainbow hair to a low taper fade. We have stylists’ who do makeup/extensions/tooth gems/special event hair/dramatic photoshoot makeup/mullets/shags/90s lover boy cuts, and anything you want; I most likely have it or have someone who can do it. A walk-in-based shop with a price base for everyone.

We are currently working on opening a new location! Hopefully, a bigger space with even more services to offer: nails/esthetics/massage/micro blading/lash lifts/and more!
