Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Johnson.
Hi Amber, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in high school where I took cosmetology but didn’t get licensed due to my teacher passing (yes, she died) of cancer. I work 2 jobs to get better my skills and get my license and finish my hours through Ogle school for hair skin and nails.
After I was licensed in 2013, I was in shop after shop, job after, Job thinking I wanted to do hair until I started working at Ewc (European wax center) in 2018. Had a passion for waxing but not so much for working for other people, so I stepped out on faith literally a word from God with nothing in my pocket, almost homeless sleeping on a mattress on the floor, nothing to my name, and took my skills to open my own business. It had prospered through a pandemic and grew me into the woman I am today.
I’m a 4-year wax specialist, providing the best vagacials in Dallas, 3x certified brow artist for those with thinning or missing brows, and provide professional makeup artistry for all skin types and tones. I also provide facials along with derma plane and chemical peels and lip neutralizing to help even the tone of lips I provide all this with premier customer service and an all-pink (my favorite color) comfortable environment in Irving.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I struggled with building clientele and digging myself out a whole I made through bad decisions.
