Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not/is not a smooth journey, but it is a rewarding one! Making not only a living but an impact in fine arts is difficult as it is competitive. But love and passion for the art form conquers all. Dedicating your time to the arts may not always be financially rewarding, but being able to influence new generations is so rewarding and beautiful!
We have had situations where we didn’t have a studio. We practiced in the park for months until we were able to get into a studio. Luckily our team is supportive and families stuck through!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full time dance educator. I specialize in ballet Folklorico, modern/contemporary dance, classical ballet, Hawaiian/Polynesian, flamenco, and more. I am proud to be serve as an advocate for cultural dance in and out of the school systems. I am proud to serve as an educator and lead my students to greatness. It being me joy to teach about cultural, history, stories, and movement. I believe what sets me apart from others is my mindset. I believe we each have something to share, and we each have something to receive. Dance can be competitive, but I believe there is a opportunity for all to thrive.

How do you think about happiness?
In simple terms, dance makes me happy. Whether this is dancing for myself, dancing to make others happy, or educating and passing knowledge to others. Dance has been my passion since I was 6 years old. It is a stress reliever, something I find comfort in, helps me connect with audiences and communities, and allows me to connect with my roots.
