Daily Inspiration: Meet Angelica Diaz Corzo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Diaz Corzo.

Hi Angelica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story began, like that of many Hispanic immigrants, ten years ago when I arrived in this country with the dream of giving my family a better future. Since then, I’ve worked tirelessly to get to where I am today, always believing that effort, faith, and dedication open doors.

I’ve been married for 17 years and I’m the proud mother of two daughters who are the center of my life. My family is my greatest motivation: I live with my mom, who has been an unconditional source of support, and my husband, who has always stood by my side, encouraging me to achieve every goal I set for myself. I also have two brothers — one who lives here in Dallas and another in Bogotá — and I feel proud seeing how each of us has built our future through hard work and perseverance.

With more than six years of experience in the health and financial services industry, my mission has always been to help families find peace of mind — whether through access to quality healthcare, trustworthy financial guidance, or simply clear information that empowers them to make better decisions.

My passion for helping others comes from a deeply personal place. I lost my father five years ago to a terrible illness, and that completely changed how I view health. Since then, in every family I assist, I see my father’s reflection — and that’s what drives me every single day.

I studied Social Communication, which taught me how to connect with people and truly understand their needs. Later, I specialized in tax preparation and health insurance consulting, combining both fields to help families find stability and confidence.

One of the most positive outcomes of the pandemic was learning how to work and connect from a distance. Today, I work nationwide, holding licenses in most U.S. states, with my main base in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This allows me to help families across the country, no matter where they live, by providing education, guidance, and quality support.

What began as a dream to help my community has become my life’s purpose. To me, this work is not just a job — it’s a calling. Every time I help a family feel secure, informed, and cared for, I’m reminded why I love what I do: because my true mission is to transform lives through knowledge, empathy, and respect.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Starting from scratch in a new country was one of the biggest challenges of my life. I had to adapt to a different language, culture, and system while supporting my family and building a new career. There were moments of uncertainty — times when I doubted if I was on the right path — but each obstacle became a lesson that strengthened my determination.

Losing my father during this process was especially difficult. His loss not only brought emotional pain but also became the reason I developed such a deep connection to my work in health services. It reminded me that helping others is one of the most meaningful ways to honor him.

Balancing work, family, and professional growth hasn’t been easy, but those challenges taught me resilience, patience, and faith. Today, I look back and realize that every struggle shaped the woman I am now — stronger, more compassionate, and more committed to helping others.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I don’t like to compare myself to others — I focus on my own growth and on how I can truly help people. That mindset has led me to the recognition I have today. My work is completely personalized; I enjoy getting to know my clients, understanding their stories, and building real relationships with them.

One of my greatest achievements has been the friendships I’ve formed with many families over the years. Receiving messages of gratitude and blessings from clients is priceless to me — it reminds me that what I do goes far beyond business; it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives.

I primarily work in life and health insurance, as well as tax preparation. These are the areas where I’ve dedicated my career, always with the goal of helping families feel protected, informed, and supported every step of the way.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice is to believe in yourself, even when things don’t go as planned. Every beginning is hard — you might face rejection, doubt, or moments when it feels easier to give up. But growth happens in those moments.

Stay consistent, keep learning, and don’t lose your kindness along the way. Focus on helping people, not just on reaching goals. When your work comes from the heart, success follows naturally.

And most importantly, don’t rush the process. Everything takes time — trust that your effort and honesty will always open the right doors.
