Today we’d like to introduce you to Artrice Weems.
Hi Artrice, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story starts in 2017. I was always self conscious about my eyebrows and then I heard about a technique called powder brows. So I did a lot of research and found the perfect artist booked my appointment and LOVED the results. I was so in love and felt I gained my confidence back when it came to my brows. In that feeling I thought to myself, I want to provide this type of feeling and give women their confidence back.
I am a former makeup artist and I thought this would be a great addition to what I do. So I took a course and haven’t looked back. What I do is truly rewarding and I know so many women have felt the way I felt about their eyebrows, some getting to help them along their journey really makes me love my job even more.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
A smooth road! Ha! Tell me another joke. I wish it was smooth. This has probably been one of my biggest challenges. No matter what you decide to get into, sometimes you’re sold a dream. With permanent makeup, you know you take the course, your given the skills, but now you have to get the clientele, you have to have a place to work out of. There are a lot of costs that no one really talks about. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication.
I have encountered many trails along the way, but they have only helped me to grow in my business and also as a person. My favorite quote says “a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor” so anytime something doesn’t go smoothly I think of this quote and I get through.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a permanent makeup artist specializing in eyebrows. I am most proud of how far I have come and how much I have grown in this journey. I have met so many amazing women who I have been able to change just a small part of their lives through what I do. What sets me apart is my heart, and understanding. I love to help so I listen to their concerns and make them as comfortable as possible. I keep them involved during their appointment so they are able to ask any questions they may have.
What are your plans for the future?
For the future, I plan on teaching my technique of powder brows in summer 2022. I also will be traveling for teaching and doe clients so I’m really excited about the future.
