Today we’d like to introduce you to Artrice Weems.

Hi Artrice, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I originally started in the beauty industry as a makeup artist, and through that work I fell in love with helping women feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Being around beauty, events, photoshoots, and special occasions all the time is actually what led me very quickly into spray tanning, because I saw how much of a difference a good tan made not just in photos, but in how someone carried themselves.

As I started paying more attention to the spray tan side of the industry, I also saw an opportunity. As a Black woman, I noticed there was room for more inclusive services and for someone who really understood different skin tones and how to customize a tan so it looks natural on everyone. That’s really what pushed me to start my luxury mobile spray tan business. I wanted to create a convenient, high-quality, and more personal experience where women could feel comfortable, taken care of, and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.

It hasn’t been a perfectly straight path, but betting on myself and turning something I love into a business has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I’m excited to continue growing and building something of my own.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Most recently, I was actually let go from my job, which was a scary moment for me, but it also forced me to really put my full faith and focus into my business. Looking back, I honestly feel like it pushed me in the direction I was already supposed to go. Sometimes you don’t make the jump on your own, so life makes it for you.

Another challenge has been some of the pushback, especially from women of color, who have asked me why I’m doing spray tanning and have said that it’s not for us. But I’ve also had a lot of women of color support me and book with me because they understand that spray tanning isn’t about changing who you are it’s about enhancing your glow, evening out skin tone, and feeling confident. So that conversation has been a big part of my journey too, educating people and showing that spray tanning is for everyone.

Overall, the journey has come with fear, uncertainty, and a lot of learning, but it has also made me stronger, more confident, and more sure that I’m building something that’s truly mine.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I wear a few different hats in the beauty and lifestyle space. I’m a mobile spray tan artist, a makeup artist with a specialty in brows, and a content creator/influencer where I share beauty, confidence, and lifestyle content. Everything I do really lives under the same umbrella, which is helping women feel more confident and comfortable in themselves.

With makeup, I’m especially known for brows and teaching technique, because I truly believe brows can change your whole face and a lot of women just need someone to show them how to do it in a way that works for them. With spray tanning, I focus on creating a luxury mobile experience that is convenient, professional, and customized to each client so the tan looks natural and fits their skin tone and lifestyle.

What I’m most proud of is honestly how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown as a person. There were times where I doubted myself, cared too much about what other people thought, and played small. Now I’m really confident in who I am and I truly believe that I am worthy of the life I want, the success I want, and the opportunities I want. Once I shifted my mindset and really started believing in myself, everything started to change.

I think what sets me apart is that I’m not just offering a service or posting content I genuinely care about how women feel when they leave my chair or when they watch my videos. I want women to feel more confident, more capable, and more sure of themselves. Everything I do, whether it’s brows, spray tanning, or content, always comes back to confidence.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that might surprise people is that even though I work in beauty, confidence, and being in front of the camera, I’ve actually had to work a lot on my confidence over the years. I don’t think I was always the person people see now. A lot of my brand is built around confidence because it’s something I’ve had to build within myself, not something I was just born with.

Another thing people might not know is that I’m very big on mindset, faith, and personal growth. I spend a lot of time thinking about goals, writing things down, speaking things over my life, and really trying to grow into the person I want to become, not just in business but in life. So while people may see spray tanning, makeup, and content on the outside, behind all of it is really someone who is constantly working on becoming better, thinking bigger, and building a life I’m proud of.
