Daily Inspiration: Meet Asia Thibodeaux

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Thibodeaux.

Hi Asia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I moved to Dallas in 2019 not knowing that influence or content creations were real things. I just know I enjoyed being dolled up, playing in makeup and enjoying aesthetics. It didn’t take much time for me to get completely sick of my job and find escape in my makeup brushes. A couple Instagram stories posted and DM’s asking about what products I used or “how do you do this?’ and I felt the need to take it a bit more seriously. #BeginnerFriendly makeup faces were always my thing, but incorporating #BudgetFriendly products is where I saw the most support and engagement. Understanding that I had learned how to look really good on a budget, my community continued to grow. This transposed to finding and resting in self-care because makeup maintenance is a lot, my skin needed to be prepped. And again, I found myself enjoying and escaping reality hard hits with oil cleansers, toners and serums. So now the story goes from buy this because you’ll “look” good to engage in taking everything slow in the processes of getting ready for work, going out to errands with my son, or simply decompressing from work with a little glass of wine, Alexa running the r&b tunes and caressing my cheeks with all of the skin care goodies I would find in Ulta. Seems like a lot, but I promise it’s simpler than it seems. I have not peaked in this space, but I do aspire to dig a little deeper and continue to share life’s journeys and luxuries of slow processes with beauty and self-care.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it’s never been a “smooth road”. I’ve been in my head more than I’ve been in CapCut. A lot of negative talk, a lot of self-doubt and while this may sound insane, a WHOLE LOT of fear of being judged by LOSERS. Yes! That’s the biggest bump in the road, being afraid to show authenticity because someone knew me from my past mistakes, or experiences… I felt (and sometimes do still feel) fearful to show up, speak value and promote products. That would be the toughest struggle in the world on social media influencing and content creation.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Outside of the videos, get ready with me’s and trending sounds. I find pride in being a mom. It’s the least shown part of my life in the media, only because I value privacy.
The greatest thing that sets me apart from someone that could hold the same title is how I balance. Professionally I’m a High School English Teacher, Cheer Coach and Basketball Coach. Creatively I’m a UGC Creator, Content-Creator and Content-Writer. Personally, I’m a daughter, sister, auntie and mom.
When I have 14-15 hour days, I still manage to make those 2-3 hours with my son the most engaging that I can. It’s my goals that when I do have “down time” i’m intentional about spending it with him. I mean, I am in charge of his childhood… so it’s only right that I get to include him in what it is that I’m doing that will set, not only me up financially.. but what will set him up for his generation and lineage because of my work. I never want him to worry or have concerns about anything. I think it’s safe to say, he hasn’t missed a beat. If I never received another like, share or comment… being Ty’s mom is what I’m most proud of.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
It never has to be perfect, you just have to create it. It took a while to fully understand this because we live in a world where aesthetics are everything. Which has now shifted to authenticity. As a type A personality, there’s a certain way I like things to flow and look. When it doesn’t happen, I freak out just a little and spiral. But in those moments I’m reminded often of Romans 11:29 “for God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.” When things are being created with my hands and vision, it’s because there was something that He intentionally thought enough to give me, and He called it “good”. That’s enough for me to hold onto.
