Daily Inspiration: Meet Bart Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bart Rose.

Hi Bart, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Got started as an aspiring guitar player, singer/songwriter. Got bit by the recording bug at age 19 and have built my chops, equipment, and business skills ever since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Hasn’t been easy. I didn’t come from a wealthy background and had to do it all myself, one piece of gear at a time. Biggest hurdle has been competing with home studios. More and more people doing things themselves at home have closed a lot of recording studios. Offering an excellent product at a fair price has kept Fort Worth Sound open over the years.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I record and produce mostly bands and singer/songwriters in the genres of Rock, Country, Americana, etc. My proudest moments have been working with artists such as Pat Green, Deryl Dodd, the Toadies, in addition to that, I am proud to have recently acquired the recording console of my dreams, a Neve Custom Series 75.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
As far as networking, apps such as Facebook and Instagram have worked well for me, but nothing beats getting out to music venues and striking up conversations with musicians and like-minded business owners at shows.
