Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben McDonnell.
Ben, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Minnesota, where I received my degree from the International Art Institute of Minneapolis. After that, I traveled the globe with my acting and modeling career. Now living between Los Angeles and Dallas, I ride my horses at my ranch, enjoy playing with my dogs, and have my studio here on my ranch.
Since moving to Texas, I realized there was a big need for an awesome headshot photographer who can really capture people personalities and get them noticed… From Actors to Real Estate agents- I’ve shot them all!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth road? I would consider more like the Oregon trail! As far as the acting career, it’s always an ongoing battle and working towards your goals. In this business, you hear no a lot more than yes! But it’s the few times you hear “yes” that makes everything worth it. I have been fortunate enough to have heard yes enough times to keep me going in this world. As far as my photography, it has been a decently smooth road because I love what I do; I get to work with amazing creatives and clients that make my job fun and not feel like a job at all.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an Actor and Photographer. When it comes to photography, I specialize in headshot photography for Actors, Models, Doctors, Real Estate agents, and more. I love collaborating with creatives and watch them light up as they see their photos and feel like a star.
My acting career has been all over the map, from feature films like Concussion with Will Smith, an Amazon show called “Class Act” with Eric Roberts, and many national an local commercials; I am currently the face of “Visit Fort Worth” and can be seen on billboards around town.
Many people remember me from my appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres and James Corden show.
