Daily Inspiration: Meet Betsy Beaman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Betsy Beaman.

Hi Betsy , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story really began with always being the friend people turned to for style advice — whether it was what to wear to an event, how to shop smarter, or just how to feel good in their clothes. I didn’t set out to be a stylist at first. My background was in leadership and consulting, but I realized over time that helping women with their wardrobes was more than just picking out outfits — it was giving them confidence, clarity, and time back in their lives.

After years of friends and clients nudging me, I finally took the leap and launched B Beaman Stylist. What started as helping women edit their closets has grown into a full business that includes Closet Detox sessions, personalized shopping, styling for branding shoots, and even speaking on style for groups and organizations.

It hasn’t been a straight path — I’ve juggled motherhood, business ownership, and the ups and downs that come with taking a risk. But that’s part of why I connect so deeply with my clients. Most of them are women who are busy, successful, and still wondering why they ‘have nothing to wear.’ I’ve been there, I get it, and I know how transformational it is when you finally feel like your clothes reflect the best version of yourself.

That’s what got me here today — saying yes to the nudge, trusting the process, and building a business that feels both personal and powerful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road. Building a business in general is wild — and I say that having already been part of building other successful ventures, from a luxury hotel to a coaching business. Even with that background, launching something that’s your own brings a whole new set of challenges.

There’s the excitement of freedom, but also the unknowns: learning new skills daily, wearing every hat, and figuring things out on the fly. There were seasons where I wondered if I was doing it ‘right’ or if it would work out. And honestly, I don’t think you ever stop having to push through those moments.

At the same time, those struggles are what keep me grounded and creative. They’ve forced me to listen deeply to my clients, to stay flexible, and to trust the process. I’ve learned to embrace the fact that growth often feels uncomfortable — and that’s okay.

The fun part is that even when it’s been hard, I still love it. Styling is the work I never get tired of. The road may not have been smooth, but it’s been worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At its core, my work is about so much more than finding a cute outfit. Clothes are the tool, but the real transformation is in how my clients feel when they look in the mirror and finally see themselves reflected back with confidence.

I specialize in working with women who are often in seasons of transition, new jobs, motherhood, lifestyle changes, and who are tired of feeling overwhelmed by their closets. Through services like my Closet Detox, event styling, and style concierge packages, I help them not only edit what they own, but also rebuild a wardrobe that feels intentional, personal, and easy to wear.

What sets me apart is that I don’t stop at the outfit. I look at the whole person. I help women understand their body type and silhouette in a positive, supportive way, and give them tools and insights they can use long after our sessions. It’s not just about dressing “cute.” It’s about finding their unique style, learning how to highlight what makes them feel powerful, and showing them how to stand out in their own way. For some women, it’s the first time they’ve ever truly seen themselves differently, and that’s life-changing.

I like to say my work is about creating a new rhythm for getting dressed, one that makes it feel effortless instead of stressful. That’s what I’m most proud of: watching a client go from hiding behind clothes to truly wearing them with confidence. For me, style is never just surface-level, it’s a practice of self-expression, empowerment, and showing up fully as yourself.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think the most important quality behind my success has been empathy paired with expertise. I can read a closet, a silhouette, or a style challenge in seconds, but what matters more is listening to the person standing in front of me. My clients aren’t mannequins — they’re real women with real lives, real insecurities, and real goals. Being able to understand that and translate it into something actionable is what builds trust and gets results.

I also bring fun. Fashion right now can feel exhausting and overwhelming because everyone under the sun is telling you what to wear and what to buy. In the middle of all that noise, I think we’ve lost the fun of getting dressed. My clients and I laugh at the pieces they can’t believe they ever bought, I share my own outfit fails — from years ago and even last week — and we find joy in the process. That’s what makes the work memorable and sustainable.

I’m also relentless about making style approachable. I never want someone to feel intimidated by fashion or think it’s out of reach. I bring structure, tools, and insider knowledge, but I deliver it in a way that feels supportive and fun. That combination — deep expertise plus a genuine investment in people — is what keeps clients coming back and recommending me to their friends.

Pricing:

  • I don’t usually share pricing upfront unless someone directly asks, and there’s a reason for that. Too often, especially as women, we’re quick to see a number and immediately think ‘that’s too much’ before we’ve even had a chance to understand the value behind it. My work isn’t about simply buying clothes or booking a session — it’s about confidence, clarity, and creating a new way of getting dressed that actually lasts. When clients hear the process, see the results, and experience what it’s like to have someone guide them through the overwhelm, the price makes sense. It’s no longer just a number — it’s an investment in themselves. And I’ve learned that when women stop trying to justify the cost and start seeing the value, the transformation really begins.
