Daily Inspiration: Meet Brinna Dawn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brinna Dawn.

Hi Brinna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got into resin from constantly seeing one specific video all the time on Instagram and Facebook, It was of this person making a red and blue ashtray with a picture inside. I remember watching it for the 1000th time and saying, “this looks so easy to do”. So, from there, I went to amazon, purchased a kit, and now here we are, almost two years later and I still love doing it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been far from a smooth road. Learning the product itself has been the hardest.

Temperature is a big thing. If your resin is too cold, it won’t harden properly or will take weeks to harden.

Working time. Some resins will cure faster than others. I’ve had resin cure inside the cup and cure as it was being poured. It also melted my cup and spilled on my lap.

Air bubbles! Wow! Air bubbles is probably one of the most annoying factors because they can either make or break your piece. Or you could get lucky and they either blend with the color or make the piece look cool. But 99% of the time, they create imperfections.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I do is called Epoxy Resin.

Resin is a hardening agent that is used on floors and countertops, and to form shapes with silicone molds.

I specialize in resin coasters, dominoes, trays, jars, and ashtrays. My specialty is dominoes, and tray/ashtray sets.

I’m most proud of the progress I’ve made with my customizations. Looking back and seeing the things I created when I first began, to 6 months in, to a year in, up until now. It’s just amazing to see your own progress.

What sets me apart from others is the options I provide. I love options myself, so I try and make sure I give all my customers’ freedom of creativity with a plethora of items/colors/customizations to choose from when they order.

What’s next?
Plans for Bpoxy in the future is to expand the items we offer.

I plan on adding resin canvas’, small coffee tables, and more flower-preserving services.

Also, to expand into silicone mold making.
