Daily Inspiration: Meet Brittany Bell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Bell.

Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started in the wedding and event industry over 11 years ago. From an early age, I always knew I wanted to be in a creative field and pursue entrepreneurship. My initial passion was interior design, but working on youth events in my church sparked an interest for planning events. In 2010, I was blessed with the opportunity to work as an assistant for an event planning company. I learned so much from the job; what to do as well as what not to do, it’s funny to think that I have been in the industry before Instagram was a big thing. Later on, I took a position as an Event Manager for a venue. I got tons of experience in corporate events, styled shoots, and everything in between.

In August of 2015, I planned a huge bridal showcase for an Internationally recognized bridal publication in my hometown, Birmingham, Alabama, that year, I decided to take a big leap of faith and I got serious about growing my own event planning company, Brittany B Events and the rest is history.

Today I’ve worked with clients all over the southeast from Atlanta to Memphis Tennessee planning corporate events and weddings. My team has grown and I continue to learn and innovative things every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s rarely a smooth road when you’re building a business from the ground up. I have challenges all the time from trying to juggle a work-life balance to managing a team and scaling my business. Not to mention, product shortages and delays from everything from flowers to food. Things are harder to find and way more expensive these days. The last few years have been tough for my industry with the pandemic making it nearly impossible to host large events but, we have worked through it, learned to pivot, and become stronger for it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in high-end weddings. Maybe it’s the romantic in me but, weddings are what set me on fire. Nothing, and I mean nothing makes me happier in my professional life than seeing my couples happy. There are a few parts to what I do, the first is logistics. Makings sure my clients’ wedding day runs smoothly is something I take pride in, ensuring my vendor team is on the same page and we stay on schedule. The second part is the creative side and the most fun part for me. I design weddings with my clients and their guests in mind, my goal is to always create not just an event but an experience. I ask myself all the time “How can we take this event to the never level?” One of my favorite memories from a recent wedding we had was a pretty party we had before the reception. There were cocktails, hors d; oeuvres, and an amazing live band. After my couple finished photos, they were able to mingle and enjoy the pre-party with their guests it was EPIC!

I think what sets me apart is my level of care I have for my clients. I genuinely care about them and the success of their marriage beyond the wedding day and that’s something they all know and appreciate about me. I create a bond with my couples keep in touch with most of them. And sometimes, we reconnect and plan their kids’ parties and celebrations, It’s the best!!!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Helping people create memories with the people they love is what makes me truly happy. I think the last few years have reminded us all just how precious life really is and how we should enjoy it and celebrate every chance we get.
