Daily Inspiration: Meet Brooke Bankard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Bankard.

Brooke, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For nearly a decade, I worked in a corporate role at the same company, learning, growing, and leading a team along the way. But over time, I couldn’t ignore what was right in front of me: the disparity in how women were valued and compensated compared to their male counterparts.

The turning point came when I advocated for a hardworking, highly capable female employee who had more than earned a raise. Despite years of pushing for her, it never happened. Then, not long after, I hired a male employee with significantly less experience… and watched him come in making considerably more than she did. That moment made things painfully clear. I knew I could no longer be part of a system that overlooked and undervalued women.

So I made a decision, I walked away and chose to build something of my own.

I took a leap of faith and poured my heart into what I had always been passionate about: event design and planning. In the beginning, weddings weren’t even part of the plan. But as things unfolded, they found me in the most natural, organic way, and now I truly can’t imagine doing anything else.

The heart behind my business name comes from something much closer to home. When my daughters were younger, they would run through the fields and gather wildflowers, bringing me back little fistfuls with the biggest smiles on their faces. It was simple, beautiful, and full of joy, just like the moments I now get to create for others.

That’s how Wildflower was born: from a desire for something better, something meaningful, and something entirely my own.

Since starting Wildflower Events and Design in 2023, my passion for creating intentional, story driven experiences has only continued to grow. In January 2026, I expanded that vision by launching Amourelle, a design focused brand created in partnership with an incredibly talented wedding florist, Amy Hall. Together, we bring an elevated, artful approach to wedding design, focusing on immersive details and cohesive aesthetics that truly set each celebration apart.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, stepping into entrepreneurship came with its own set of challenges, ones I don’t think you can fully understand until you’re in it. One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to learn is that, as a business owner, you don’t really “clock out.” There’s always something to think about, plan for, respond to, or create. The lines between work and life blur quickly, and finding a healthy balance between the two has been one of the hardest parts of this journey.

There have been long nights, early mornings, and moments where I’ve questioned if I was doing it all “right.” But through it all, my family has been my steady foundation. They’ve been incredibly supportive, patient, and gracious, giving me the space to grow, to learn, and to figure this all out along the way.

Building something of your own isn’t always easy, but it’s been worth every challenge. And I’m still learning every single day.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
When people ask what I do, the simple answer is wedding planning, coordination, and design, but what I really do goes far beyond logistics and timelines. I help create meaningful, intentional experiences that reflect each couple’s story in a way that feels deeply personal and completely their own.

There are many talented planners who can execute a beautiful wedding day, but what sets me apart is my approach to design. I don’t believe in copy and paste weddings or recreating something straight off Pinterest. Instead, I see each wedding as an opportunity to tell a story, their story, through every detail, every texture, every moment. From the smallest design elements to the overall atmosphere, I want my clients day to feel like a true reflection of who you are.

What I’m most proud of, though, isn’t just the final product, it’s how I serve along the way. On a wedding day, nothing is beneath me. Whether it’s scrubbing a bathroom, grabbing a last minute Band-Aid for the bride, or taking care of a guest who isn’t feeling well, I step in wherever I’m needed. I believe in serving people wholeheartedly, and I strive to let that be evident in everything I do. My faith is a big part of that, and it guides how I show up for my couples, their families, and every person involved in their day.

At the end of it all, my goal isn’t just to plan a beautiful wedding, it’s to create an experience where people feel cared for, celebrated, and truly seen.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
oh goodness! I’m not sure. I feel like I am pretty transparent.
