Daily Inspiration: Meet Carmen Vanelly Galindo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Vanelly Galindo.

Carmen Vanelly Galindo

Hi Carmen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started modeling in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. At the time, everyone had to Quarantine, so I had a lot of time on my hands, and I decided to finally take on my friend’s offer of being a model for his photography portfolio, and I fell in love with the process. I enjoy expressing my artistic side through the camera, and I am very fortunate to be able to be a freelance model in Dallas, working with agencies and meeting like-minded artists.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say it has been a smooth road for me; I have no complaints at all. You get what you put out.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Dallas-based Model; I have 3 years of experience with commercial, editorial, fit, and catalog modeling. I am most proud of my magazine prints and business relationships with modeling agencies. What sets me apart would be that I am a Freelancer having a flexible schedule to be able to do other bookings like, brand ambassador work. I also tend to be hands on my work, being on the creative side of the camera lens during and after each shoot brings me joy and helps build great relationships.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
I love listening to podcasts and reading awesome, interesting books! I am currently hooked on “Momentos de introspection con Martin Aparicio.” This one is for my Spanish speakers. Now for an English Podcast suggestion, “On purpose with Jay Shetty”. Podcasts like this help ground you and be the best version of yourself, which is so important in any work you decide to do. A book that helped me with my creative side and helped with discipline is “Atomic Habits.” I read a lot of self-help books, I like to be reminded of what’s important and valuable in this world, it is truly a free therapy session each time.
