Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenna Brooks. They and their team shared their story with us below:
When it comes to food, Chef K’s passion has always revolved around celebrating simplicity while entertaining others. Chef K grew up on the East side of Dallas, using a lot of her childhood watching her grandmother cook Soul Food in the kitchen. Chef hopped in the kitchen and fell in love with cooking! Chef K’s background comes from a multitude of Executive Chef positions working with DISD (Dallas Independent School District) while receiving her BA in Culinary Arts. In 2020 Chef K decided to venture out on her own, starting a Private Catering service KB’z Eatz & Treatz. Chef K has received an overwhelming amount of support, even being able to contract with the Army Reserve!
Chef K’s famous saying is… ~ Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only so many notes or colors, there are only so many flavors. It’s how you combine them that sets you apart.”
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Yes, thought about giving up so many times, but I started turning my “NOs” into “YESs”
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being that I stepped out on faith before the pandemic hit, and I am still striving and grinding harder than ever and what sets me apart from the other chefs is I’m a Private Executive Chef specializing in all types of cuisines! All American
Italian
Indian
Mexican
Soul food
German
Asian
I can basically cook whatever you love to eat, and I also specialize in healthy option meal preps, Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian you name it!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Dallas for the support you get being a business owner, and Dallas is a home to more than a dozen neighborhoods and districts that each have their own distinct vibe and attractions. What do I like least about our city there is not enough good food places open late.
