Daily Inspiration: Meet Christian Rios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Rios.

Hi Christian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started cooking when I was in middle school or as soon as I could. My mother didn’t like to cook nor was she good at it. Luckily my father had enjoyed getting creative in the kitchen occasionally. I find it very satisfying expressing myself through food. I like to say cooking is my love language.

I have a lengthy background in the industry, I’ve held every position in a restaurant and I’m classically trained.

I don’t really have a favorite cuisine; I love all the different flavors from around the world.

I love what I do and it’s humbling to know people understand and appreciate what I share, I’m grateful for the support I’ve received.

It’s been a beautiful journey and I’m just getting started. Stay tuned because we got big news

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong at some point along the way and quitting did cross my mind but I have too much in me to do such thing, we all do we just have to really want it and dig deep. Also, the right people will show up to help at the right time but we have to help ourselves first.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Although I’m known more for my cooking abilities and creativity, I’m really a jack of all trades, I have many interests and I’m still in the remodeling industry during the week until I can cook full time. I love working with my hands and creating cool stuff. I’m proud of being able to be my own boss and make a good living doing things that make my soul happy and others too. I think my attention to detail, high expectations of myself, and not being afraid to fail set me apart from others.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Plant-based eating is here to stay and is an essential component in helping redesign the different aspects of society that are not in the best interest of the people, animals, or the land. The shift is already in motion.
