Today we’d like to introduce you to Chyna Norman.

Chyna Norman

Hi Chyna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised on the Southside of Fort Worth! Growing up, I was always this witty, artistic, smart young girl. I had a passion for the arts. Rather that was music, dancing, singing, etc. I really was drawn to that side of life! I was able to express myself in a different light that was truly unique to me. In elementary school, I auditioned for Barbizon, which is a modeling and acting school. I received 2 offers for a photoshoot and commercial, but things didn’t align at that time. So, I didn’t continue forward. I was saddened, but I knew that that wasn’t the end of the road for me. So, while in elementary school, I got invested into dance that my after-school program provided, and I also took interest in the choir at my then church. Any way to artistically express myself, I was interested, and I was very good at it. As a kid, I was always invested into Disney Channel and the kid actors. I knew that would be me on the screen one day and I wondered just how it will feel to experience that life. I had big dreams. Moving throughout middle school, I made sure I was invested into choir because I knew I had a beautiful voice! I competed and won competitions while doing so. I played many sports, such as basketball, volleyball, and track & field then cheerleading during High School! I just wanted to do EVERYTHING! I started getting invested into makeup, creating different makeup looks and posting them daily on a makeup account I created. Moving into high school, this passion of all things beauty still followed. So, in 2019-2020, I decided to take my passion to YouTube! I started creating different makeup videos, tutorials, hair videos, vlogs, etc. I wasn’t consistent, so it kind of died down, but the passion still remained the same. Graduating high school, things started to get pretty serious. In school, they didn’t really push trades as often. Rather the typical “9-5” lifestyle. I knew that wasn’t what I wanted for myself. I knew I wanted to be my own boss and follow my passions through. So, I was faced with the ultimatum, nursing or beauty school. I knew money came with nursing, but I also knew I had to follow my passion. So, I started cosmetology school October of 2021. I lost my father here in the physical a month prior, and it was one of the hardest things I had to deal with. He was my main source of motivation and always had my back through it all. So, it was hard, but I knew he was still here with me. Guiding me every step of the way. I then soon graduated August of 2022 and received my license November 2022! I was excited to have finally taken the necessary steps into the industry, but I knew that was just the beginning. I started getting back in the groove of uploading content. I started uploading GRWM + CHIT CHATS every Monday – Friday which is just a way for me to connect with my viewers and give them advice and guidance while doing my hair and makeup! I also post like content on Instagram and Facebook. I also started travel cosmetology for the meantime, meeting and connecting with current and new clients is always an experience and fulfilling to me. I know my purpose is to raise and uplift earth’s consciousness. To teach and heal. I know I will change the world, and my name will be a household name. I’m just being divinely guided, and now I’m here. Ready to continue elevating and take on what’s next.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been an easy road. A lot of times people just see the end results of things but don’t see the hard work, pain, sadness, dedication that happened behind the scenes. One thing I can say is that looks are very deceiving. I know that I have to work 10 times harder because I have no one to fall back on, and I have to build everything that I’ve dreamed for from the ground up. It’s hard trying to build with a very little support system, but ultimately that’s what has made me stronger. Being content in myself and knowing that I’m meant for greatness even if people doubt me or try to sabotage the plans that are set for me. Losing friends and family along the way was one of the hardest things I had to experience. Knowing that if I wanted to elevate and achieve success that not everyone could be with me. I didn’t understand before, but I truly understand now. Sometimes I still cry wishing my dad was here in the physical to verbally give me those pep talks, motivate me, just tell me it’s going to be alright. I know he’s still right next to me and still continuously guiding me, and I’m so grateful for that. I suffered depression for a long period of time, not knowing myself or who I was, trying to find my identity. I just was in a really bad place and didn’t have the necessary outlets. There were so many people counting on me to fail and throw in the towel, but I knew I was a warrior. Through the pain, trauma, setbacks, I would ALWAYS come out on top. That’s the one thing I admire about myself. Not matter how many sticks and stones you throw my way, no matter how many times you try to knock me down, I will always prevail. That’s how I know I’m special and my life has purpose. I’m destined for greatness, and I can’t be stopped.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Content Creator, Influencer, Spiritualist, Humanitarian, Licensed Cosmetologist. I’m just all for the people. I know am to be of service to others and just help guide people to healing. I’m just glad to be able to be in this position. I’m happy I’m in the position to finally just see clearly. Finally following my passions and pushing it as far as I can. I know that I’m special unique. I do things my own way, and I don’t settle for less than I deserve. Regardless of what’s going on around me, I stick to what I see envisioned for self. I follow my own blueprint. It was made specifically for me, so why not follow it? Why not be everything I was called to be? I never fit in, and now that I see the power in that, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere or anyone else but me.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
It has taught me a lot, and I’ve been able to experience a lot while being here in Fort Worth, Texas. I met a lot of people and made past friends with people who I’ve learned a lot of lessons from that helped mold me into the person I am today. It’s home. It’s where it all begun. There’s so much history and culture here in the city. There’s so much talent here that goes unnoticed. That’s one of the things I wish light shined on more. Those with true passion and talent. Things just seem to circulate the area and go no further. I wish people in the city understood it’s more to life than what you’re surrounded by on a daily. You do not have to become of your environment. This is just your starting point. It’s up to you to get yourself to where you need to be. The violence, the lack of that “they” want you in, is all just a distraction to keep you in a cycle and have you miss out on the bigger picture. When you want more, you can have more. Don’t let your past, family history, generational curses, or you environment hold you back. It may not be easy, but you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to.
