Daily Inspiration: Meet Courtney Jaimes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Jaimes.

Hi Courtney , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our story is really special because it started long before the studio ever existed. We both grew up dancing and developed a deep love and respect for the art and discipline of dance at a young age. Dance shaped who we are. It taught us confidence, work ethic, teamwork, and gave us lifelong friendships and mentorship that impacted our lives in so many ways. Teaching allowed us to share our passion while helping young dancers grow, which quickly became just as meaningful to us as performing ever was.

Our journey took a unique and personal turn when we became family. We were best friends first, and then became sister-in-laws, which strengthened not only our personal relationship, but also our ability to work together. We realized we shared the same teaching philosophy, values, and vision for what a dance studio should feel like.

When we moved to Texas a little over a year ago, it felt like the perfect opportunity to take a leap of faith and turn our lifelong passion into something of our own. We wanted to create more than just a place to take dance classes, we wanted to create a dance home. A place where dancers of all ages and skill levels feel welcomed, supported, and inspired.

Since opening, we have been incredibly grateful for the growth and support from our community. Watching our dancers develop confidence, friendships, and a love for dance has been the most rewarding part of our journey. We are proud of how far we have come in such a short time, but we are even more excited about the future and continuing to build a positive, encouraging environment for our dancers and families.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opening and growing a studio requires constant learning, adapting, and evolving. As a newer studio, we are continually evaluating what works best for our dancers, families, and performances to ensure we are providing the best possible experience. Balancing business growth while maintaining high-quality training and building strong, meaningful relationships with our families is always a top priority.

Another important part of that balance is family. As both studio owners and moms, one of our biggest challenges has been learning how to grow a business while still being fully present for our families. There are long hours and a lot of behind-the-scenes work, but being mothers has also helped shape the culture of our studio in a very positive way. It allows us to truly understand families and create an environment that is supportive, encouraging, and centered around the well-being of our dancers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We offer recreational dance classes, preschool and early childhood movement classes, homeschool classes, and competitive team opportunities. Our competition team allows dancers who want more performance and training opportunities to take their dance education to the next level.

We really focus on creating a balance between strong technical training and a positive, supportive culture. Every dancer matters to us, whether they are dancing recreationally or competitively. We also prioritize communication with families and creating opportunities for dancers to grow at their own pace while still being challenged. Our studio truly operates like a community, not just a class schedule.
Ultimately, we want to be a place where dancers can train long term and feel proud to call their dance studio home.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
One of the biggest things we have learned is to be open to learning from others and to never be afraid to ask questions. Finding mentors and building a network often starts simply by building genuine relationships within your industry and community. For us, some of our best guidance has come from staying connected with past teachers, studio owners we respect, and other professionals who share similar values and goals.

Another thing that has worked well for us is surrounding ourselves with people who inspire growth but also support and encourage us. Having each other as business partners has been incredibly valuable because we are able to share ideas, problem solve together, and support one another through both challenges and successes.

We have also found that networking doesn’t always have to be formal. Sometimes it happens through competitions, community events, or simply reaching out to other studio owners and professionals to share experiences and advice. Being willing to listen, learn, and stay humble has helped us grow tremendously.

Our biggest piece of advice would be to seek mentors who align with your values and vision, not just your goals. Strong mentorship and networking relationships should feel supportive, encouraging, and genuine. Those relationships can truly make a difference not only in business but also in personal growth.
