Daily Inspiration: Meet Dan Burcham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Burcham.

Hi Dan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Our Story

Alpine Construction Co. was founded during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic with a simple mission: to help our local community—friends, family, and neighbors—with reliable, high-quality home repairs and renovations.

For our President and Pre-Construction Manager, Dan Burcham, construction isn’t just a business—it’s personal. His passion began at a young age, working alongside his father on home renovation and flip projects throughout the DFW area. Watching his father’s craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in his work left a lasting impression—one that continues to shape Alpine Construction Co. today.

What started as a series of small projects quickly grew through word of mouth. Homeowners noticed the difference: a commitment to quality, clear communication, and a level of care that treated every home as if it were our own. As demand increased, so did our team. We brought on an experienced project manager and a client-focused estimator—both dedicated to turning each client’s vision into reality with precision and professionalism.

Today, Alpine Construction Co. proudly serves the entire DFW metroplex, while maintaining strong roots in the communities where we got our start—Lake Highlands, Lakewood, White Rock Lake, and Richardson—where we continue to offer exclusive local discounts.

We’ve built our reputation on a simple belief: no job is too big or too small. Whether it’s a minor repair or a full-scale renovation, our clients trust us for our craftsmanship, reliability, and personalized approach. That trust has led to lasting relationships and a growing base of repeat customers who know they can count on Alpine to deliver every time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d say yes, it has been a relatively smooth road as the company started as a hobby and a passion to serve first. It wasn’t until we were booking a project every week or every other week that it felt “like work.”

In the 100+ projects that we’ve completed since inception, I’ve only had to go back ONCE and make corrections to meet the customer’s full satisfaction. Which, we did with pride and understanding that they had a different vision for their backyard renovation. Financially, this re-work was covered 100% by Alpine Construction Co. and help shape-shift the companies final inspection process.

Because of our commitment to honor our customer satisfaction guarantee, at not additional cost to the homeowner, we were invited back to complete three more projects for this client.

Overall, smooth – with plenty of room to grow.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In my professional career, I am a metallurgist with a deep fascination for metal alloys and the role they play across industries. I began my journey the summer before college, working for a steel manufacturer where I learned the fundamentals of buying, selling, and trading metals.

Building on that foundation, I went on to study International Economics and Finance at Texas Tech University, recognizing early on that the metals industry is inherently global—supplying critical materials to economies around the world.

Alongside my professional path, my passion for construction and residential renovation developed as both a hobby and a personal pursuit. Over time, that passion became a defining part of who I am. I believe it’s what truly sets our work apart as general contractors—our attention to detail comes from a genuine love for the craft, not just the job.

No matter the field, I approach my work with a “roll up my sleeves and get it done” mindset. It’s a mentality that has consistently served me, my clients, and my family well.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Seeing the WOW factor on a customer’s face when we finish the job and proudly thank them for the opportunity.
