Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Villa.
Hi Daniel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I’ve had a love for hip-hop, it’s really how it started. Towards the end of my high school years, I started getting introduced to the underground scene and fell in love with the music. So eventually I created a platform that shines light on the underground and not just the underground in general but specifically the Latin hip-hop underground. And with the help of social media, I’ve been able to discover and share artists from all over the country.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall it’s been a smooth ride. But I think the only struggle I have had is trying to get people to stay connected to the page. By finding different types of content or just having something different going on, besides just sharing music.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
As of right now just sharing music and being connected with these artists. Slowing getting into having merchandise and growing my YouTube with interviews or highlights from local shows.
I think what I’m most proud of is finding out that I’m able to unite some of these artists and producers in the Latin hip-hop community.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t specifically target popular artists. I try to look at the talent of an artist. I don’t share an artist’s music because of numbers or followers. I share them because I genuinely enjoy their music.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Anything related to what I do now, I can’t think of anything right now.
