Daily Inspiration: Meet Diana Tennant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Tennant.

Diana Tennant

Hi Diana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a small town in the Ozark mountains of north Arkansas. My teenage dreams included: 1- attend college to become a teacher 2- get married and have 2 kids 3-if that failed, my backup plan was to be a model (no real opportunities in a small Arkansas town) 😀. Well, I finished college, moved to Little Rock, got married, had 1 kid, got divorced, did a couple small runway shows, and ended up in a long-term career (which I loved). I thank God for allowing me as a single woman with 100% custody of my daughter the ability to provide her with a safe home and a warm bed.

My career spanned over 30 years, where I was based in Little Rock, Shreveport, and eventually relocated to the DFW area. The Dallas area has been home for 26. And it’s here where I discovered my passion for yoga 23 years ago. My life trajectory changed several years into my yoga practice when I decided to do yoga teacher training. Yoga became my passion, and I gave up a very lucrative job to follow that passion.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Struggles along the way included;

Being a single mom and traveling for work.

Being a mother as well as having to try and do the fatherly things was extremely hard.

Being single and rarely dating because I was raising my daughter was difficult, but I have no regrets.

I love teaching yoga and hope to continue for a long time. Challenges in teaching yoga are many.

It’s physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically demanding. The movement of energy in a yoga space is such a blessing to me. The benefits any challenges I face as a teacher help me focus on continuous self-improvement and self-care.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Started in a long medical career and retired early to teach yoga. I’m certified to teach many styles of yoga, including Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Power, Yin, Chair, Restorative, and others.

I work with the energetic body and the elements when I am working on a class.

So much more but I’m running out of time. I’m afraid if I close out, I’ll lose my information

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I have a couple yoga apps and follow many popular yoga teachers on their private platforms or YouTube
