Daily Inspiration: Meet Domminique Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Domminique Young.

Hi Domminique, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Straight out of Pleasant Grove, Dallas, Texas, Young Double is an artist shaped by reality, lineage, and lived experience. Influenced early by his father’s love for 2Pac, music was never just background noise—it was purpose planted young. From childhood, rap wasn’t a phase or a hobby; it was the vision.

Young Double’s style is rooted in truth. He can talk fly—money, motion, and confidence—but he never skips the other side. Losses, street lessons, pressure, and survival all live in the same verses. That balance is what defines his sound: aspirational yet grounded, flashy but honest. His music reflects what it really looks like to come up—not just the highlights, but the costs.

Sonically, Young Double blends street realism with boss-mindset energy, drawing influence from artists like Payroll Giovanni, Larry June, and Premo Rice. The result is a sound that feels calculated, confident, and authentic—music for hustlers who understand that elevation comes with sacrifice.

More than just a rapper, Young Double represents perspective. He tells the full story: the grind, the gains, the setbacks, and the mindset it takes to keep pushing forward. With roots in Dallas and eyes on longevity, he’s building something real—doubling down on vision, consistency, and truth. This isn’t hype music. This is lived-in music.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a lot of ups and downs in this music. I done had big opportunities like features with Sauce Walka to were with the right budget could have took off but in this music game it take a lot of money, a team, and a plan

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I make as in the words of nwa reality rap. I rap from a point of view of the streets both good and bad. I’m most proud of the honesty and authenticity of my artwork because it’s views of my life either what I’ve seen or been through. I believe that sets me apart from others because it’s the truth it’s my truth

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The thing that matters most to me is me making it off my realism because I believe it’s a lane in music for real artist
