Hi DVonna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Dallas Texas, February will make 7 years. With only my 3 small children all under the age of 5. No family. No village. Only us. So it was difficult keeping jobs with daycare and eventually school. Especially with my youngest being autistic and realistically I needed a more open schedule because the school would call and request that I came and sat with him or picked him up. No job would accommodate that. So we eventually begin Top Tier Cleaning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. It’s never easy betting on yourself. Especially when you’re in a completely new city, you don’t know anyone and you’re literally building your business from the ground up. It’s so many cleaning services here in the DFW, the competition was really intimidating. So just building the business with absolutely no clientele, accepting that we would make mistakes along the way, understanding that not everyone is your targeted audience and finding balance between work and family.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love being able to help others. I’m a mom, so I understand that keeping a clean house is not always easy and people shouldn’t be so quick to judge. But not only moms, anyone with a full fledged life, people battling depression, people with disabilities, people who travel for work, and even just people who don’t like to clean. It’s so easy to judge, but what about understanding & giving people grace. I love the look on my client’s faces when they light up after they see their fresh and clean homes. That’s what makes me the most proud. I was able to give you back a little piece of yourself. Make your house feel like home again. In stead of judging, why not help? And that’s our main goal and our mission here at TTCS and that’s what set us apart from the rest. That’s what we specialize in, giving our clients a fresh start and new beginning that they can also be proud of.
How do you think about luck?
We aren’t lucky, we are blessed. We are blessed to have been in business for 4.5 years thus far because we had faith and continued to grow. Accepting constructive criticism, negative feedback in the beginning, turning all of that negativity around because we really do love what we do and we wanted to continue to help.
