Daily Inspiration: Meet Emily Golden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Golden.

Emily , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After earning my degree in Business, I knew I wanted a career that offered more creativity and connection than a traditional desk job. My dad, who began his photography career during the Nixon era, inspired me to see the art in everyday moments. Together, we started photographing weddings in 2010, combining his timeless style with my fresh perspective and passion for people.
When my dad retired in 2020, I continued to grow the business on my own—building strong relationships with venues, second shooters, and amazing couples who trust me to capture their stories. Today, I’m proud to carry on our shared legacy, creating images that are both timeless and full of genuine emotion.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s actually been a really smooth road overall. I think that comes down to consistency and never cutting corners. There are a few things I never compromise on: using quality gear (and always having backups for everything), triple-checking locations and timelines before every wedding, and putting in the same level of effort and care that I did on day one. I’ve learned that when you stay prepared and truly care about your couples’ experience, things tend to run smoothly—even when surprises come up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a wedding photographer based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, and I specialize in capturing genuine, timeless images that reflect each couple’s personality and love story. I’ve been photographing weddings since 2010, and after all these years, I’m most proud that I still truly love what I do.
Weddings can be high-pressure days, but I still get excited for every one of them—the people, the emotions, the energy. That enthusiasm carries into how I work with my couples. I think what sets me apart is the balance between professionalism and genuine care. I show up fully prepared, with attention to every detail, but I also bring warmth and a calm presence that helps couples feel comfortable and trust the process.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
So many people deserve credit for where I am today. First and foremost, my couples — they trust me with one of the most important days of their lives, and that trust means everything. My family — my husband and our two kids — have been my constant support through every busy season, cheering me on and reminding me why I love what I do.
I’m also thankful for the photography community — so many talented people who are open to sharing ideas and encouraging each other. The wedding vendors I work with are another huge part of my success; they make every wedding day flow beautifully and keep things fun.
And above all, I give credit to God. I truly believe every opportunity, every connection, and every couple I get to serve is part of a bigger plan. I’m grateful for the doors He’s opened and the joy I get to find in my work every day.
