Daily Inspiration: Meet Emily Pearl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Pearl.

Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started building my social media platform while I was pregnant with my son. I wanted to share what I was going through as a new mom in an unexpected situation. My bank account was negative when I gave birth, and my maternity leave was unpaid. Thankfully I have an amazing village, but I knew I needed to do more since I was going to be a single mom. So, I started working out at home and working on my personal development and sharing that on social media. I started running challenge groups for other women I had connected with on social media and grew my personal brand to inspire millennial mamas to find themselves again in motherhood and ensure that you can still live a lit life. I was able to not only provide for myself and my son, but I was able to buy us a new car as we were left without one. I am able to provide my son with opportunities now that I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do as a single mom. I am continuing to build an amazing network of women supporting other women to become the best version of themselves with the hope that they won’t lose themselves in motherhood or relationships but the confidence to know that if they do, there will be a village there to support their growth again.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think the road is ever smooth, but when you’re confident in your purpose, it makes the bumps easier to handle. Some of my biggest struggles were postpartum depression, accepting that I was going to be a single mom, body image, and finding appreciation for what my body created versus how it looked after. I’ve also had to create the discipline to continue showing up even when I’m not motivated to do so, not just for myself but for the women in my groups that I’ve committed to.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I was a flight attendant until I decided it was time to be home every day with my son so now, I do work a corporate job with the typical 9 to 5 schedule. However, my passion is in my personal brand as a mom that prioritizes health and fitness. I want women to look at me and see that you do not have to lose who are when you become a mother, we are not entering their lives, but rather they are entering our lives. So, while you may be unlocking a new level of yourself, you are still you. I do this through creating content and brand partnerships on social media. and fortunately, you don’t have to be a new mother or a mother at all to relate to the personal growth, healing, health, and fitness content I provide.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Absolutely, my biggest mentor, especially in the beginning, is Lori Stuart. She helped me find my first workout program, got me plugged into my first community of other moms in similar positions as me, and showed me how to build my brand and monetize my work. She has continuously been a cheerleader; she doesn’t gatekeep, always sharing more ideas and ways to grow, even when I started doing work on my own. She also helped me mentally as a single mother who understands the struggles that comes with.
