Daily Inspiration: Meet Emory Eagles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emory Eagles

Hi Emory, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It’s truly been a rollercoaster of a journey to reach this moment in my career. Countless sleepless nights, hard work, and determination have paved the way to where I stand today. I was always on the road, traveling to different colleges, working part-time at Home Depot, assisting photographers, and even attending school amidst all that. As a Content Specialist for the esteemed University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, every step since 2022 has been a labor of love and dedication. The road here has had its fair share of curveballs, but the view from where I am now is nothing short of a blessing and fulfilling.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As I listened to all the different opinions of others, I couldn’t help but feel a little discouraged. People were saying my work wasn’t good enough, I couldn’t succeed, and my dream was too big. But you know what? I refused to let their negativity bring me down. It lit a fire inside me to prove them all wrong. I wanted to show them that they didn’t have the power to stop me from reaching my goals. And now, as I look back on all the doubts I faced, I’m filled with a sense of accomplishment. I hope that my journey can inspire other aspiring photographers to chase their dreams with confidence. Let’s support each other as we reach for the stars because there’s no limit to what we can achieve.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I started focusing on capturing portraits, but I’ve recently fallen in love with sports photography, especially basketball. It seems I’ve become the go-to person for sports photography in my circle, known for freezing those intense moments and making them clear. I’ve traveled to various college arenas, capturing a wide range of electrifying moments with my camera. What makes me truly proud is my work ethic and unwavering determination to turn my photography dreams into reality. It’s my hard work and constant desire to improve that sets me apart. I always remind myself that there is room for growth and keep pushing myself to enhance my skills. “It can always be better” is always on my mind, pushing me to strive for greatness.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me the ability to wake up and do what I love every day. Next, I want to give a huge shoutout to my incredible mom and family for always being there for me and believing in me no matter what. Their constant support has been my rock as I pursue my dreams, and I am so thankful for their encouragement. Lastly, I want to send a big thank you to Jersean Golatt and the athletics department at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for recognizing my potential and helping me succeed as a photographer. Their belief in me has made a difference in my journey, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities they have provided me to grow and learn.
