Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Malone.
Hi Felicia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I fell in love with books as a young girl growing up on the west side of Chicago. Books were my Time Machine transporting me to other worlds and time periods.
I became a published author in 2014 with the release of Ruth’s Awakening: A Love Story. The feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive with many expressing how a character mirrored their own life experiences.
I was raised in a Pentecostal church with its mores and traditions. I never felt dating and falling in love was discussed openly and realistically. My tagline is,
“I write stories where church girls get to happily ever after.” That is my
Mission.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So not smooth. I published part 2. Ruth’s Awakening: Love on the Moon on Juneteenth 2025, eleven years after part 1, Ruth’s Awakening: A Love Story. Life was definitely lifeing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a data manager by day and a romance writer by night. What differentiates me from other writers of romance is my focus on the story.
My protagonist and supporting characters have a clear developmental arc. Their self discovery journeys are what my readers enjoy. I don’t write smut. I write love stories.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am an actress and singer. This is a new facet of my creativity that I have been blessed to explore this year. I can hardly wait to share the details in the future.
