Today we’d like to introduce you to Forrest Jorgensen.
Hi Forrest, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Born in Alaska, raised in Texas. I’ve been moving around my whole life. After college I went on a two-month long road trip across the country, I ended up back in Texas. That was 2017. Ever since then, I’ve been learning how to fly.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My family life was and largely still is far from ideal. It’s said that some trauma can last for seven generations. So, I kind of consider myself the lifetime all this pain from the past gets processed and laid to rest.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Most know me for my photography and visual art. I’m a wedding photographer by trade, with a specialization toward working with couples. Deep down though, I’m a writer and poet. I’ve got hundreds of poems tucked away in various hard drives.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
Not sure where childhood technically ends, but I went to Australia with this student ambassador program when I was 17. Spent 19 days in the land down under, and it was incredible. The food, the people, the land, the herds of kangaroos across the countryside.
