Today we’d like to introduce you to Ginger Comstock.
Hi Ginger, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I adopted 2 little terrier mix puppies after my Maltese Lilly passed away in 2021. I always love dogs in outfits. Dresses didn’t look good, so I ended up getting them bandanas for their birthdays, and thought I could make them cheaper. So I made up a pattern & made a few cute bandanas. After posting pics of Trufflez & Cocoa Chanel – on social media, friends started ordering bandanas for their pets, and the business began in the fall of 2022.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I work full time, so working in time to sew the bandanas is sometimes a challenge. I am the only person producing these, from start to finish. I sell my bandanas at local craft/farmer’s markets, so that takes my weekends, as I man every booth. Luckily I do have a few friends and family that help me with larger markets, and set up and work the booth!!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work full time at a local university/hospital supervising a team that works with company credit cards. We provide customer support to approximately 1,800 people. I love helping people.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
When I was 12, I was in a club for girls, and I met a girl who ended up being my dearest friend for life. We took trips with this club, often accompanied by our parents, and had the most fun. It’s 50 years later, and Tracy & I are still best friends – and laughing about the trips we took and silly things we did.
