Daily Inspiration: Meet Heather Martin

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Heather Martin again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Heather, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
I’m Heather Martin, Int’l Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and owner of Beyond the Breast. I’ve been in practice here in Fort Worth for almost 15 years and have the best job supporting families and helping them meet their infant feeding goals with confidence.
I take a holistic approach to feeding challenges and work closely with several area chiropractors, physical therapists and massage therapists as well as dentists (if needed) to aid families with addressing concerns.
I have a background in early childhood education and believe that knowledge helps when discussing milestones/growth patterns and those early weeks with less sleep for parents.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Since we last spoke, I’ve expanded my office and telehealth hours in order to help more families and offer more flexibility with their schedules; I’ve spoken at a couple of conferences regarding infant sleep and oral restrictions like tongue and lip ties.
Each day working with families is different- there may be similar concerns but our approach to helping reach their goals may be completely different.
The most exciting part is receiving “Save the Date” texts for a new baby joining the family or sharing a milestone or improvement in their journey- seeing the confidence in meeting their feeding goals is so rewarding.

I’ve recently expanded my insurance network so I’m able to see more families with minimal or no costs to them.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
Quiet support- I may not be loud or boisterous, but I absolutely love hearing about a family’s success. I’ll happy dance with them or offer hugs but I’m also prone to crying with them too when discussing hard moments or big concerns.
I’ve worked hard to build connections within the community in order to better support families and provide resources, I hope that those connections are also welcomed by those I work with.
