Daily Inspiration: Meet Helena Dreyer, Joe Dreyer, Jon Beatty, Erin Beatty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helena Dreyer, Joe Dreyer, Jon Beatty, Erin Beatty

Hi Helena Dreyer, Joe Dreyer, Jon Beatty, Erin Beatty, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
How we got started… We always knew we wanted to have a family business and found what we were looking for in the Spring of 2021 and started getting to work on our dream business. Jon and Joe have always loved the auto industry and cars in general while Erin and Helena have a passion for serving people. With all 4 of us having different strengths to focus on, what could go wrong? We opened our Auto Detail Supplies retail store in February of 2022 with a whirlwind of excitement for us and the clients we would serve. There was nothing like us in the DFW area until we opened. Hosting monthly car meets, teaching training courses and offering individualized customer service are just some of the ways we make a difference in the automotive community. Fast forward 18months, we realized there were ways we could better serve our clients so we closed our store, rebranded and re-opened in February 2024. We now offer a variety of brands for both professionals and DIY-ers, we continue to host monthly car meets that support non-profit organizations in the area, we teach multiple training classes for professionals and DIY warriors and continue to offer individualized customer service. We are looking to expand our reach with online sales to support all of DFW and beyond. Everyone is welcome at Detailing World Prosper regardless of your detailing knowledge.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? No path worth venturing is ever smooth. Some of the struggles we have had along the way are mostly people finding out about our store. We have to get more exposure, let more people know about us and that we can help them, they can come ask questions and get the answers they need. They don’t need to aimlessly wander the internet looking for answers. The rebranding was also a challenge. We did not know for sure that it would work, we offer a much larger variety now for more people, it is working, people love the selection of products we offer. There are always more things to do than people to get it done. Car meets can be challenging, you need to bring enough entertainment to people to get them to participate. There are multiple car meets every weekend in DFW, how do you stand out? There are no other car meets in our area, now if we could just get people to stop speeding down Cook Lane past the PD, we’d be in good shape.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
With 4 people involved, there are lots of stories to tell. Erin works on social media, creating content, interacting with others and customer interaction in store. Social Media is a full time job itself! There is lots involved there. Helena is our Community Liaison and Events Coordinator. Which means she works with non-profits in our area to find out their greatest need so we can support them during our Cars & Coffee Car Meet at the end of each month. Jon is our sales guy! He works with detail shops, dealerships, B2B and everything in between to learn how we can best support them. Joe is our store and inventory manager, so if something is out of stock, blame him. He also is our class instructor, teaching 2 classes every month for those who are looking to expand their detailing knowledge. What are we most proud of? The fact that the community comes together to help us support the non-profits we present each month. The community we are in has been a lifeline for us to keep going even during hard times. What sets us apart? Our customer service and our willingness to help people overcome their challenges with their vehicles puts us on another level than other places. We are people focused, we just happen to be doing it in the auto industry.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Pray. The advice for people to network, start going to events, start talking to people, start introducing yourself and your product to others. No one will know about you if you don’t start talking. The things that have worked well for us, we are an ear for people to tell their stories to. We want to connect with others, it’s not about us, it’s about serving them and their needs. When you solve someone’s problems, they will come back to you every time and they will recommend you to others.
