Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacquelyn Pilgrim.
Hi Jacquelyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started taking social media seriously when I was 16 years old. I jumped on the Tik Tok wave and started making dancing and lip syncing videos. My fourth video I ever posted was a dancing video for my 17th birthday and it was my first viral video ever. I had about 500,000 views initially and gained a little over 30,000 followers. The feeling was invigorating. I continued to post and make videos like this until I struck big once again, and made a viral video with 32 Millions views and gained 800,000 overnight ! I had no idea my video had even posted and I woke up with hundreds of thousands of followers and it was growing in the thousands by the minute. Most exciting day of my life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I started college not too long after this, I struggled to maintain my platform and my school work at the same time. I started to lose some followers from the inconsistency and eventually had a drastic ego death. I didn’t like the content I was making anymore, it didn’t represent the adult me very well. I took a year off from social media entirely and have recently opened myself back up to it. Time off doesn’t mean quitting, and i’m not giving up on that dream.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a content creator. I model, act, creative direct, and style myself for all of my videos and content. It’s multiple jobs wrapped together in one. I have a unique combination of travel, fashion, and artistic vision that enables me to make one of one content. Beyond that, I am known for having really great genetics and I have an iconic figure that I can thank my momma for.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Modeling for Disney World with my sister and getting the entire park to ourselves! We got to ride the rides with no lines and as many times as we liked and they had buffets ready for us for each meal.
