Daily Inspiration: Meet Jasmin Garay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmin Garay.

Jasmin Garay

Hi Jasmin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Jasmin Garay with Jasmin Garay Photography. I’m based in Grand Prairie, Texas, but willing to travel anywhere for your wedding, photo session, you name it. In 2020, photography initially was just a hobby that soon turned into one of my passions. After graduating from high school, I decided to apply to Los Angeles Film School to not only learn about photography but films as well. During my whole college career, I’ve build Jasmin Garay Photography from the ground up. It has truly been an amazing journey so far, meeting amazing people and creating long-lasting friendships. With the grace of God, my business is where it is today and continues to grow!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Running a photography business, or any business, comes with its challenges and celebrations. When you are working for yourself, there are a bunch of roles you have to play. For me, I have to be the manager, employee, editor, marketing team, and even HR for any issues that occur. There are moments where I can sometimes get burnt out, and it can be hard, but something that always helps me is have a self-care day or spend time with family. This job has truly helped me have a good work-life balance, and I can’t wait to see what God does through me in the years to come.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a self-taught portrait and wedding photographer. I’m based in Grand Prairie, Texas but will soon be moving to Marble Falls, Texas in October of 2023. I specialize in capturing weddings, maternity, seniors, engagements, self-love, and families. I love to bring my client’s visions to life. My goal is always to bring out the best in my clients and their personality to make their photo session unique!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
With God’s help and guidance, I plan to travel to different cities and states to capture sessions or weddings. Also, in the future, I plan to open my dream photography studio. This will allow me to not only better serve my current and future clients but mentor upcoming photographers allow them to use a creative space!
