Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Sandoval.
Hi Jenny, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Since I was a young girl, flowers have always captivated me , I remember seeing them in the fields, in the prairies, and especially in my mother’s garden. She loved plants and flowers, and since I was little, she would send me to buy good soil to help them grow. I would often help her tend the garden, and it was during those moments that I learned to admire flowers deeply. I always believe that flowers were like precios gems, with their infinite variety of shades and colors. I also believe that flowers are a gift from God- the creator of all things. He designed every bloom, every plant not only for their beauty but also for the joy, comfort, and even healing they can bring to our souls. That’s why flowers have always felt sacred to me, as living reminders of His love and creativity. Life took me in different directions, so I didn’t dedicate myself to floristry at that time. However, every chance I had, I loved to give flowers as gifts- whether for birthdays, funerals, or just to brighten someone’s day- because I always knew that flowers could touch the souls in a way words could not. In 2017, while volunteering at a memory care facility in Mckinney, I asked management if I could bring flowers for the residents. They approved, and one day, as I was passing out their flowers to the ladies, something unforgettable happened. A sweet resident received a flower in her hand, and while staring it deeply, she suddenly grabbed my hand and held it tightly. It was obvious that something about that flower- its fragrance, its beauty-had awakened a memory within her. Tears streamed down her faces she held it to her chest. I never knew exactly what memory came back to her, but in that moment I realized the profound impact flowers can have on the human spirit and even on memories that seemed lost. Later, while volunteering at Frisco Centennial Hospital, one of my fellow volunteers passed away. I gelt deeply moved to create a floral design that expressed love, gratitud, and the bond of companionship we had shared. Without knowing her family personally, I decided to deliver a beautiful hear-shaped floral design to her children. As they looked at the flowers, I could see their spirits lift-their smiles reflected how flowers can bring comfort, encouragement, and even a sense of hope during times of grief. That was the true beginning of my floral journey. Flowers are not only beauty; they carry memory, healing, and love. My passion is to design floral pieces that speak to the heart and honor life’s most meaningful moments.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a “smoky road,” but my journey hasn’t been with out challenges. One of my biggest struggles has been low exposure-getting my work seen and recognized. Floral design is such a personal and competitive field and at the beginning, I often felt invisible even though I was pouring my heart into creations. Another challenge has been balancing the artistic side with the business side. Despite these struggles, each obstacle has shaped me. Low exposure thought me resilience and reminded me why I started the first place-because flowers have the power to touch lives. Little by little, I learned to embrace opportunities, like volunteering, participating in floral symposiums and now being featured in Voyage Magazine, which has opened doors I once only dreamed of.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a floral designer who believes that flowers are not only for beautiful, but also a form of art that can tell a story and touch the soul. What sets me apart is my creativity and the way I approach each design with an artistic vision. I see flowers as an opportunity to display the beauty of His creation, also I see them as my medium, just like a painter sees a canvas, and I love to push beyond traditional arrangements to create something unique. One of the areas I am most passionate about is floral logos- designing artistic pieces made entirely of flowers that represented a brand, event, or special occasion. It’s something not very common in the floral industry, and I believe it brings a fresh innovative touch to how flowers can be expirienced. I would love the opportunity to create more of these in the near future. I am also deeply inspired by fashion and floral art, blending both worlds together to crate designs that are stylish, elegant, and memorable. Whether it’s a fashion-inspired floral instalation, a centerpiece, or a custom design, I want my work to feel timeless yet bold. What I’m most proud of is being able to bring comfort, joy, and beauty to people’s lives through my work-whether in celebrations, moments of grief, or simply to brighten someone’s day. My hope is that every design reflects not only my creativity but also the love and care I put into it.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone just starting out is : never quit. Follow your dreams and star true to your vision, even when the road feels slow and uncertain. God has given each of us unique gifts and talents, and when we trust him, He will open doors and help us display those gifts in a a beautiful way that the world truly needs. I also wish I had known earlier that growth takes time, and exposure doesn’t happen overnight, But every step, every creation, and every opportunity bounds upon the next. Be patient with the process, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to let your creativity shine in your unique way.
