Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Everage.
Hi Justin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hoping I keep this “brief,” it has to start with the origins & natural laws of the universe/humanity. Creation, actualization, manifestation, channeling, transmuting, however you’d like to put it, is all around us & seems to have been for longer than I can imagine. I say that to say, it is in my essence to grow & change, express myself as freely as possible & to attempt in shaping the world how I see fit. The medium or “final form,” in which it results, may just have a niche style or tend to lean a certain direction at times. I think I am trying to make sense of myself & everything around me. It just so happens that music (audio in general really), writing & creative direction or curation have became the most habitual. I see connections between a lot of stuff & I believe context is important. The backdrop can be just as important as what’s on display. They support each other. I think that’s what got me here & keeps me going. The interest & inclination to constantly try new things, problem solve, fill a void, you know feel something? Be of positive use & make cool stuff while having fun & appreciating every moment. All thanks to a higher power, my community, my environment & myself of course. Don’t we all like a little ego stroke? “Hey mommy look at me! Look what I’ve done!” This life chose me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Thankfully it has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles has been coming to terms with the fact that “struggles,” are actually good and are (in a way) what you want. “An opportunity in disguise,” as they say. Nothing good comes easy so at least I know my journey is one of value. Other challenges have been both external & internal. Wether financial, sourcing, indecision, management, etc. (the list goes on), everything comes with a price. Nothing a little, “work with the work,” attitude can’t fix. I’m learning to just take it on the chin & use what’s at my disposal. I’ve found that working within limits can be very beneficial.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I facilitate a feeling or idea into an experience or something tangible. I experiment & push the envelope. I oversee that the world surrounding the product or service is cohesive. I adapt and tend to the areas in need. I specialize in audio production & engineering, writing, creative direction/curating, performing, etc. I’m known for being a taste-maker with a diverse palate, pulling strings behind the scenes & aiming to keep a well-rounded vision. I’ve made, released & been involved with the making & releasing of others, music/soundtracks. I’ve been involved in the production/coordination and/or direction of events, video content, fashion shows, artwork & photography. I was a part of a radio show residency at one point. Who knows, maybe someday you’ll run into one of my drawings somewhere. My experience & influence come from both Texas & Sweden so I think I have a pretty unique take on bridging some gaps. My modes of persuasion only continue to get sharper. I genuinely care about my craft & continue to be a student of the game, which I do think sets me apart from others unfortunately (not to say that nobody else does).
I’m proud that I’ve helped others turn some of their dreams into reality along with my own. Even if it’s in the slightest way I’m proud when we do something positive & productive.

Yes there is loads of information that I consume on the daily that bring something of value to my life. Shoutout to Hommage Media, Havok Inc., Modern Lover & raisethevibe.net, just to name a few of my favorite.
