About the Artist
“My artwork is a merging of introspection and gratification, as it allows me to tell a story using colors and images as emotions, and concepts that delight evolved human minds.”
I’m Kevin Keith Whitehurst, the artist behind Kevin Whitehurst Studio — I create work that elevates expression and celebrates inspired living. Kevin Whitehurst Studio is an innovative lifestyle brand of contemporary art with a unique blend of health, wellness, humor, fashion, and optimism. While I embrace the art world and entrepreneurship in my current role, I spent 33 years as a Healthcare technology executive for ResMed until 2023. I have been an artist all my adult life and after some soul searching during the pandemic, I made the decision to pursue my passion in art. Because of my connection with the healthcare industry, and my fondness for positive lifestyle, I started my own business July 2023, and it has been nonstop since then.
You may be familiar with the corporate name (ArtHealthNut) which is a rather unique word that describes the holistic and positive nature of the company and its products. The brand is unique, and it does have 3 elements that drive the mission. Art – which represents the creative works in the oil paintings, the writings, and characters portrayed in the art. Health – represents all forms of health, wellness, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and an element of mood. Nut – which represents dedication, obsession with art and health, and the humor element.
I recently moved to Dallas, TX to expand the footprint of Kevin Whitehurst Studio and to be close to a vibrant, thriving art community. As a person who aspires to make an impact and has passion for life, Dallas is the perfect fit for me and the business
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle has been learning the art business, as well as trying to gain value from social media. Having a background in healthcare technology business, art is a different animal. Not only have I had to figure out the art business but also engage with social media. Social Media has been a lot of work with little return from a sales perspective. However, connecting with the art community and finding educational content has been good.

The artwork often draws from deep personal experiences, my healthcare technology career, travels, living in 6 major cities in America, my family, friends, and acquaintances, and exposure to an unlimited amount of art and creativity. This personal connection makes the pieces highly authentic and relatable to our audience. Theres is a channeling of personal growth and observations in art, which is why it’s both distinctive and resonant with themes of wellness, optimism, and reflection.

My Creative Process
Color is my emotional compass. I often revisit combinations until the mood feels just right. My signature style merges abstract form with figurative portraiture. Somewhere between realism and fantasy, my characters captivate with expressive eyes and flowing colors.
I also take pride in how others experience my work. When I launch new collections, I host art parties and love hearing the unique interpretations that others bring. Often, they see things I hadn’t even considered.

What does success mean to you?
As an artist, I would define success as having painted a piece that made someone feel inspired. I have always felt that if just one individual that wasn’t family or friend purchased one of my art pieces, that would be a great thing!
