Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristy Lea
Hi Kristy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
“I’m thrilled to share my journey with you. From a young age, I’ve been driven by a strong sense of purpose to protect and advocate for others. This innate passion led me to establish my nonprofit organization, dedicated to empowering individuals and families through compassion, development, and creativity.
Our mission is to ‘Reach beyond the walls’ and make a meaningful impact by educating, encouraging, equipping, and igniting positive change. My personal mantra is ‘IMPACT,’ and I’m committed to living up to this standard.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve been dedicated to continuous learning and growth. I’m a proud member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and have obtained the following credentials:
– Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science
– Associate Degree in Business Management
– Certificate in Accounting Professional
– Certificate in Business Foundation Professional
– Business Management Professional Certificate
– Human Resources Management Professional Certificate
– Nonprofit Management Certificate
Recently, I expanded my skill set by obtaining my real estate license. As ‘Kristy Lea, the name you can trust,’ my goal is to empower first-time homebuyers to achieve their dream of homeownership. We’re launching workshops to educate and equip people with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in homeownership.
As a dedicated and licensed real estate agent and Realtor(r), I’m passionate about helping first-time home buyers and individuals seeking new builds achieve their dream of homeownership. Through my expertise and guidance, I aim to educate, support, and empower my clients every step of the way, making the home buying process seamless, enjoyable, and rewarding.
At the end of the day, my ultimate desire is to be a well-equipped champion for God, approachable and reliable for His purpose, and a source of hope and support for everyday people. I strive to be known as God’s woman and everyone’s warrior.
It’s Ya Girl, Kristy Lea! The name you can trust.”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not! I firmly believe that success requires perseverance and grit. It’s a journey of building mental and emotional muscle, and it’s a ‘how bad do you want it’ situation.
For me, the biggest struggle has been staying disciplined and focused on my goals, especially when faced with uncertainty and skepticism from others. It can be challenging to remain motivated and engaged when it feels like no one understands your vision.
Additionally, getting the word out about Beyond the Walls Outreach and securing funding for our programs has been an ongoing obstacle. However, I remain committed to pushing forward, fueled by my faith and passion for making a difference.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a Mentor and Networking
Having a mentor and being part of the right networking group can be a game-changer in one’s career. While I didn’t have a traditional mentor in my early career, my father laid a strong foundation in banking that has served me well. Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have managers who have guided and shaped me into the professional I am today.
Embracing Mentorship in a New Chapter
As I embark on my new journey as a real estate agent, I’m grateful to have found a mentor who is helping me navigate this new landscape. Their guidance and expertise have been invaluable in helping me succeed.
Networking and Community Involvement
I’ve recently been introduced to several professional organizations that align with my values and goals, including Women in Real Estate, AAREP-DFW (African American Real Estate Professionals), and BCREN (Black Professionals in Commercial Real Estate). I’m excited to network with like-minded professionals and contribute to these communities.
Advice for Finding a Mentor and Networking
For those seeking a mentor or looking to expand their professional network, I offer the following advice:
1. Be open to guidance: Don’t be afraid to ask for help or seek advice from those more experienced.
2. Join professional organizations: Align yourself with groups that share your values and goals.
3. Attend networking events: Take advantage of opportunities to meet new people and build relationships.
4. Be genuine and authentic: Build meaningful connections by being yourself and showing a genuine interest in others.
By following these principles, you’ll be well on your way to finding a mentor and building a strong professional network.
